Create your own masterpiece with modelling paste and paint at this textured art class in Sunbury-on-Thames.

2 hours Class size 1 to 35 guests       £25 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join this textured art workshop in Sunbury-on-Thames and spend two hours playing with rich textures, beautiful colours, and raised paint as you create your own custom canvas. It's a wonderfully feel-good, low-pressure way to switch off from the busy week and discover a fun, creative outlet.
You don't need any prior art experience at all, and you don't even need to arrive with a fixed idea in mind. This hands-on class is completely made for beginners, and everything is designed to make you feel right at home. At the start of the session, you'll get a warm introduction to how the materials work. You'll have the chance to test out the modelling paste, try the different tools, and learn how to shape, layer, and build up beautiful dimensions before moving onto your main canvas.
Once you feel comfortable and ready, you'll choose your favourite colours and start building your design. Whether you want to sculpt soft textured flowers, craft a modern abstract piece, or just see where your intuition takes you, the choice is entirely yours! You'll have friendly, step-by-step guidance throughout the entire session, but there's no requirement to copy an exact template. We're here to give you plenty of support so you feel confident while leaving lots of room to experiment and make something genuinely one-of-a-kind.
Here's what you'll learn during this hands-on session:
  • How to apply modelling paste using palette knives and tools
  • How to create raised texture on canvas
  • Simple textured painting techniques, including floral and abstract styles
  • How to use colour, shape, and composition in your artwork
  • How to add finishing touches to complete your piece
Textured art is wonderfully tactile, a little messy, and incredibly satisfying as you press, scrape, and smooth the paste. By the time the session wraps up, you'll have experienced a delightful creative awakening, leaving you with a great basic understanding of palette knives and that lovely sense of pride that comes from making something beautiful from scratch. You'll head home with your gorgeous, personalised 20 x 25 cm textured canvas keepsake, ready to display proudly on your wall.
Please note: Your artwork may still be wet when you leave, as thick textured paste takes some time to fully set. Your teacher will show you exactly how to carry it home safely in your provided carrier and how to let it dry properly once you get back.
What you'll get
  • Your own 20 x 25 cm textured canvas to take home.
  • All materials provided, including acrylic paints, modelling paste, palette knives, tools, and aprons.
  • A short demonstration to help you feel confident before starting.
  • Step-by-step guidance throughout the workshop.
  • Freedom to create a floral, abstract, or personal textured design.
  • Tea, coffee, and light refreshments during the session.
  • A carrier to help take your artwork home safely.
  • A relaxed, beginner-friendly space where you can try something creative without pressure.

Art has always been something I’ve held onto, especially during times when everything else felt uncertain.
Moving from one country to another as a 9 year old, wasn’t the easiest experience, and for a long time I didn’t really know how to process everything I was feeling. Art became that space for me. It gave me a way to express things I couldn’t always put into words, and over time it became somewhere I felt calm, grounded, and understood.
That connection stayed with me, which is why choosing to study a BA in Fine Art felt natural. Creating has always been something I come back to, no matter what stage of life I’m in.
Alongside this, I’ve spent the past four years working as a teaching assistant across primary, secondary, and SEN settings. That experience has shaped the way I approach teaching. I’ve learnt how important it is to create a space where people feel comfortable, supported, and not judged, especially when they’re trying something new.
Starting my own workshops has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I know how easy it is to say you want to try something creative, but then life gets busy. You don’t have the materials, you’re not sure where to start, and eventually the idea just gets pushed aside.
That’s really where Inaartworld comes from.
I wanted to create something where you can just show up as you are, without overthinking it. Everything is ready for you, and you’re guided through it in a way that feels relaxed and natural. It’s not about being perfect or “good at art”, it’s about giving yourself the time to slow down and enjoy the process.
There’s something really special about watching someone go from “I’m not creative at all” to surprising themselves with what they’ve made. That shift in confidence is honestly my favourite part of teaching.
Textured art in particular is something I love working with. It’s hands-on, a little messy, and really satisfying. You can physically see your work build up on the canvas, which makes the whole experience feel more immersive and freeing.
Inaartworld is still growing, but it’s something I care deeply about. It’s not just about making art, it’s about creating a space where people can switch off, reconnect with themselves, and leave feeling a little lighter than when they came in.
