6 hours Class size 1 to 12     label £45

A workshop designed to give participants the basics of design, cutting, and printing with lino.

This is one of the only workshops that offers attendees the opportunity to try all of the different linocut surfaces available on the market. I know that everyone is different and has different preferences, so I provide a range of materials for you to find your best match.

The workshop teaches you to:

  • Draw and transfer a design onto the surface of the lino (10x15cm).
  • Cut the lino block using specialist gouges.
  • Print the block onto paper and fabric, experimenting with both oil and water-based ink.

The workshop runs from 10am to 3pm with a break for lunch.

Mornings involve drawing, transfer, and some cutting.
Afternoons are focused on cutting and printing the lino with some time allowed for answering questions and providing information on tools, inks, and papers.

The aim of this workshop is to provide you with all of the information and techniques you need to take the skill further at home.

Hi Everyone, I am an artist and printmaker, living on the canals in and around Northamptonshire.

My artistic journey started when I was very young and I have continued to work with paint, sculpture and print (and some crafts thrown in for good measure) ever since.

I graduated with a BA Fine Art (hons) Degree in 2004 and uhave been involved in teaching art since I left university, working with community groups, schools and businesses.

Passing on techniques, language and thinking skills involved in my everyday practice is something I am really passionate about. I feel strongly that everyone can and should make art and that it should be accessible for all and ENJOYABLE!!! It’s a great way to step out of your comfort zone, find a new way of looking at the world or to simply relax.

My lessons range from in-depth learning to ‘have a go’ sessions to suit all abilities and interests. Lessons are structured to allow you to work at your own pace and my experience in teaching helps you to succeed.
