Hi! I’m an Orthodox priest and icon painter. I use fully traditional methods and materials: egg tempera, natural pigments, gessoed wooden boards, resin varnishes, gold leaf, etc. I can also paint in the very ancient medium of hot wax encaustic. And, lastly I can teach you how to lay real gold (gild) in various ways with different effects. I learnt these methods over many years studying under various masters, sometimes in foreign monasteries.
