Gelli Plate Printing Workshop

Delve into the wonderful world of printmaking in Ellesmere Port.

2 hours Class size 1 to 4     label £35

Join talented artist and experienced teacher Clare at her studio for two hours of creative fun. This art class is all about making prints using the Gelli plate method.

Monoprinting using a Gelli plate is simple and fun with no need for a printing press. You can create unique prints and get immediate creative satisfaction as you come away with beautiful and personal art prints handmade by you.

During this printing workshop, you will explore a variety of printmaking techniques when using the Gelli plate. Experiment with layers of colours and texture, use stencils and try out masking techniques. Each method will leave you with interesting prints and designs.

Class sizes are kept to four people to make sure everyone gets individual attention. You can also enjoy this as a group activity as you and your pals get creative side by side.

You will leave this workshop with a variety of prints produced by your own hands in this class. These can stand alone or be transformed further in mixed media DIY projects!

Please note: Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access due to a small step to enter the studio.

Clare is a surface pattern designer and printmaker based in the UK who delivers creative workshops from her home studio in Cheshire. Clare has over 15 years of teaching experience in the FE sector and has recently made the leap to create her own home wear range and deliver workshops full time.

Being inspired by nature means Clare can’t resist collecting plants and beach combing while on family walks with Bobby, the Bichon Frise, who is rather famous with the locals and known as ‘no-eye Bob’ (yes, he has no eyes!).

Clare has a passion for creating and printing designs beginning with one-off gelli plate prints, which are then layered using digital techniques to form final designs.
