Like the idea of melting silver? Give this jewellery making class in Camden a try!

7 hours Class size 1 to 2 guests       £189 (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join this silversmithing class in London where you will learn various techniques for melting and casting with silver to create your own unique jewellery. Ideal for those with some jewellery (metal working) experience.
This (and all my courses) is designed for adults. I do not currently offer classes for children and teenagers.
During this fun and creative day out, you will have the opportunity to play with fire and explore different ways of melting and casting silver. We will cover sand (delft clay) casting, and water (drop) casting, allowing you to create a diverse range of shapes and forms. Once you've experimented with these techniques, you will have the chance to transform your favourite shapes into wearable solid silver jewellery.
You can expect to create either a series of test pieces or one or more completed pieces. We will be creating abstract, organic forms with the water / drop casting, or replicating pre-prepared forms using the sand casting process - the most successful forms for this are chunky rings, medallions and relatively simple forms - you will have a selection of shapes to choose from on the day.
This class does not include wax carving or creating your own unique master model for the sand casting - that is a separate class / technique - for the sand casting, you will be able to choose from a wide range of pre-made rings, shells and other shapes and forms to cast from.
Throughout the class, your experienced instructor will guide you through the process and provide all the necessary materials. You can expect a supportive and uplifting atmosphere where you can freely explore your creativity.
By the end of the workshop, you will leave with your own stunning piece of solid silver jewellery, made entirely by you. So why not join us for this exciting silversmithing class in London and discover the joy of creating your own beautiful jewellery through the art of melting and casting with silver.
Please note that the workshop is located down stairs and metal working can be fairly physical, so it may not be suitable for individuals with mobility or dexterity issues – we apologise for any inconvenience.
What you'll get
You will leave with either a gorgeous piece of solid silver jewellery, ready to wear and proudly show off, or alternatively a series of silver test pieces to continue work on later.

Students will also get detailed handouts with tips and instructions to help them if they decide to continue with similar work at home, plus drinks and snacks during the session.
Lunch is not included, but there are lots of great cafes and food stalls locally here in Camden Town to try out.
