Great course - the multiple week courses are always so much better for learning new skills! Louise and Millie both really friendly patient teachers. Highly recommend this.

Really enjoyed this workshop - lively chatty Artisan who imparted a lot of incidental knowledge and techniques along the way. The painting didn’t start promisingly as often the case with watercolour but I was pleasantly pleased at the end though obviously nothing as good as hers! Thank you Hobbycraft for these free workshops!

I did the 6 week Granny Squares blanket course so knew what to expect and also knew Kathryn is the best and kindest teacher ever! And she was again - it was a small class which is nice but even so we ranged from those who already knew how to crochet and those who were totally new. Kathryn coped admirably with two completely different speeds of doing things and was always happy to explain something again. The video sent to us after is a lifesaver as we didn’t actually manage to finish the egg during class. Also important for when we forget!

Very enthusiastic artisan who was endlessly encouraging! Also gave lots of useful tips and suggestions along the way. I often pay for workshops but it was nice to try something free. I appreciate that you can’t give us materials for free workshops but would have been good to be given a very clear list of materials I had to buy beforehand - I did buy acrylic paints but lacked the essential black paint. Also it happens I did already have the particular types of brushes she named and used and >220g paper but I didn’t see instructions to get these.

It was a terrific course, can't praise Artisan Kathryn enough for her patience and kindness. I really struggled in the beginning far more than anyone else thanks to being left handed, a complete novice to crochet without any similar background like knitting which most did, and suffering Long Covid with brain fog. I felt useless and that I'd have to drop out after the first session. But Kathryn found a solution and checked in specifically to help me along, and I managed to get my head round it eventually, and even enjoy crochet now and want to do more, once I finish this blanket. Which is definitely credit to her!

The class was well planned - not too much for us to learn and practise in one hour, but enough of the basics were taught so that we could continue on our own with all the letters.

Instructor Rachel was very good. She went at a good pace; we could all keep up. Very ready to answer any questions we had. Her own brush lettering was lovely to look at, and that was an encouragement to me in that, if I keep practising, mine can hopefully also look that good!
