What you'll do
This course is a really fun day for you to discover Gelli plate printing techniques. You will learn how to use Gelli plate printing to create colourful designs on a variety of surfaces, such as paper, card, and textiles. A tote bag and papers to create a little booklet.
Gelli plate printing is similar to monoprinting, but instead of using a glass printing surface, you use a soft gelatin plate. The painted designs lift onto your paper or material very easily, and the effects can be amazing each time you layer up.
I use acrylic paints and emulsions with handmade stencils and stamps, and a wide range of bought stencils to play with. I also incorporate garden foliage, so the possibilities are endless.

Barbara from Feltworld Creative Arts is a multimedia artist, creating colourful works of art.
During Barbara's classes, you can learn:
- Wet felting and needle felting.
- Batik painting – an ancient art form where you draw with hot beeswax with a tool called a tjanting, using a bowl with a fine tube for the wax to flow through and onto the cotton material to create a clear line.
- How to work with alcohol inks. Creating abstract designs using isopropyl alcohol and alcohol inks is amazing fun.
