Learn how to prepare clay, centre it on the wheel, and throw basic forms. Whether you want to practise cylinders or try bowls right away, your instructor will support your preferred focus.
Exploring Form & Shape
As you gain confidence, you’ll experiment with a range of shapes such as cups, bowls and small vases. You can revisit techniques as often as needed and follow your own creative direction.
Turning & Refining
Discover trimming, fettling and refining methods to create clean, balanced pieces. Explore decorative options such as carving, texture and surface design — fully customisable to your style.
Glazing & Finishing
When your pieces are ready, you’ll learn glazing techniques, colour choices and how finishes transform in the kiln. This session helps you confidently complete your work from start to finish.
Self-guided Practice

The studio is run by Amanda — a ceramicist with a Master’s degree and over 17 years of experience — who leads all pottery sessions with care and expertise, alongside talented guest teachers Valeria & Clare.We keep our workshop sizes small to ensure a more personal, relaxed experience. You can also book private sessions or family-friendly group classes designed to be as fun as they are enriching.We're based in a unique London Location at Trinity Buoy Wharf, this riverside creative hub features London’s only lighthouse, amazing views of the O2, and a buzzing art scene.
