Add a handle or choose a premium glaze/glaze session to personalise your finished piece.

Stoneware, Not Earthenware

Stoneware, Not Earthenware

Most pottery tasters in London use earthenware clay — porous and suitable only for decoration. At Blanc Ceramic, we use stoneware, the same durable clay used by high-end restaurants. This means the piece you create here will not just be a souvenir, but a fully functional item — safe for daily use in the dishwasher, microwave, or even the oven.

In this London ceramics class, you’ll get hands-on experience with the pottery wheel, guided step-by-step by our skilled instructors. With plenty of support, you’ll learn essential pottery techniques and explore the therapeutic process of working with clay.
This 1 hour workshop is perfect for complete beginners as well as those with some experience. It’s a fun, creative way to relax, get messy, and make something truly personal.
What’s Included:
  • All clay, materials, and use of tools
  • Professional instruction and guidance

Book your pottery taster class today and experience the joy of making with clay!

We appreciate your patience and understanding!

The instructors are very knowledgeable and can guide you towards good technique without taking over so you learn how to improve. The class was a short walk from the underground, and instructions on finding the studio were quite clear. I reccommend giving it a try if you want a fun activity outside of central London and are a beginner to pottery.
  • 5/5 from Stefano Larghi, attended Sep 2026: The class was really good! The teacher was so helpful and was explaining really well how to do it, really loved the experience! I would have liked to know in advance that there is an extra cost to cook the items to bring them home.
  • 4/5 from Alison Eady, attended Sep 2026: Teacher was very good & hands on. Class enjoyable & using the clay was really relaxing. The hour flew by. Would be good to be shown a few examples to look at before starting to choose what shape item you would like to try to make so you know what you're aiming for. Gift voucher was really easy to use but be aware quite a few add on costs if you want your piece fired & colour glazed etc.

  • 5/5 from Mansi Shah, attended Jul 2026: Was a great class! Very fun and very informative. I wish we had more time, so the only thing I’d change is booking the 2 hour session over the 1 hour one.
  • 5/5 from Sneha Rudra, attended Jun 2026: I went with two friends and we all absolutely loved it. The class was led at a great pace and the teacher was so patient and kind. Everyone working at this pottery class was so sweet and we loved it so much we’ve already agreed we’ll come again soon! 10/10 recommend
  • 5/5 from Carlotta Dunn, attended Jun 2026: It was great!
  • 5/5 from Man Wa Chan, attended Jun 2026: Both teacher are very professional and patient. My whole family, including my 11 yr-old boy enjoy the session very much. The 1 hr taster session is a very good start for anyone who is interested in pottery. You can make a small little vase or small bowl. Would recommend this studio.

  • 5/5 from Marina Dugaeva, attended May 2026: Amazing atmosphere - we came for my birthday and made some really lovely pots with patient guidance from our teachers. All the explanation was clear and useful, and as it was our first time, we appreciated having hands-on support too! Can’t wait to collect our pots soon. Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Maxwell Wotke, attended May 2026: The teacher was incredible! Thank you Wen! She was very patient and went through everything clearly and concisely, gently correcting if the pottery seemed a bit wonky. It was an incredible experience and I would definitely do it again but go in with a better idea of what I wanted out of it next time with the knowledge I have!
  • 4/5 from Leonor Duarte, attended May 2026: The teacher was nice. I just wish I could do more of the trimming and shaping on my own piece - the teacher did that last bit, it seemed like they were in a rush to end our class although other people were till there.
  • 4/5 from Monica Zaia, attended May 2026: I had a great experience at this pottery class. The teacher was very attentive, always available to help. The class was fun and engaging, and I’d definitely like to come back for another session. The only downside was the value for money. While the class itself was enjoyable, I was disappointed to learn that keeping your finished piece costs an additional £6. Considering the overall price, it would be nice if taking home your creation were included.
