Knowledge required
Some experience using commercial patterns will be the perfect starting point for this class. When making your own patterns they don't come with instructions, so this will help you have an idea how to put them together at home.Students should also know how to use a sewing machine. If you're a beginner, come to the Beginner Sewing Workshop and/or Sustainable Sewing Course first to build up your skills in these areas!
What to bring
Nothing is needed. If you would prefer to take your measurements at home, bring a note of these.You're also welcome to bring your own sewing machine if preferred, but there will be machines available to use in the studio.

I am a sustainable fashion designer from Dublin, now based in Edinburgh. I studied Fashion Design in Ireland before coming to Scotland to do a Masters in Sustainable & Ethical Fashion. My work uses exclusively vintage and reclaimed materials in a bid to showcase the beauty of reuse!I really enjoy teaching people and sharing in the joy of creating, upcycling and making unique pieces.Join me in a group session or 1:1 to learn sewing, upcycling, pattern drafting and more!
