Welcome & settle in

Welcome & Settle In

Each month features a different animal guide, and today we’re working with the Spirit Owl — a symbol of clarity, courage, and inner wisdom. You’ll get a sense of the owl’s meaning and how this session fits into the wider series before we move into the creative work.

Mould your Spirit Owl

Mould Your Spirit Owl

You’ll shape your own clay Spirit Owl using your own simple techniques. No experience is needed — just relax, follow your hands, and let your owl take form naturally. This part of the session is grounding, creative, and wonderfully soothing, giving you a tactile way to connect with the symbolism of the owl.

Grounding with a Short Meditation

Grounding with a Short Meditation

In this gentle guided meditation, you’ll journey into an ancient forest to meet the Spirit Owl — a symbol of clarity, courage, and inner wisdom. The meditation is designed to help you feel grounded, supported, and more confident during times of uncertainty. It’s a calm, imaginal experience that encourages self‑trust, emotional ease, and a sense of direction.

Shape your own Spirit Owl in this relaxing clay sculpting and well-being class in Kidsgrove, part of a monthly series exploring a different animal guide each time.
You'll settle in and discover the meaning behind this month's guide – the Spirit Owl, a symbol of clarity, courage and inner wisdom – and how it ties into the session ahead, before moving into the hands-on part of the day. Using simple techniques and your own two hands, you'll mould your very own clay owl, letting the shape emerge naturally as you go – no previous experience is needed, just a willingness to relax and follow where your hands take you. It's a soothing, low-pressure way to switch off and get creative.
Partway through, you'll be guided through a short meditation, journeying into an ancient forest to meet your Spirit Owl and settle into a calm, imaginative space designed to leave you feeling supported, grounded and a little more confident. Afterwards, you'll turn to your journal for a few quiet moments of reflection, jotting down thoughts, questions, or even a poem inspired by the month's theme.
Before you head off, take a proper break with refreshments from the venue café – think herbal teas, lattes, cake, and vegan and gluten-free options – plus a specially chosen recipe to take home and make your own.
By the end of the session, you'll leave with your air-dried clay owl, a personal reflection to carry with you, and a little more breathing room than you arrived with.
