Hi, I’m Simi, founder of Mat & Moon.
My journey into yoga and wellness began through my own need to slow down, heal, and reconnect with myself. Like many people, I spent years navigating the pressures of modern life, always switched on and rushing from one thing to the next. Yoga became the practice that helped me come back to my body, calm my mind, and create space to breathe again. What started as something personal soon became something I felt called to share with others.
I created Mat & Moon because I wanted to offer classes that feel grounding, meaningful, and genuinely nourishing. Experiences where people can move their bodies, take a pause from everyday stress, and reconnect with themselves in a deeper way. I blend yoga with lunar themes, reflection, journaling, and intention setting because I believe wellbeing is not just physical, it is emotional, energetic, and deeply personal too.
I love teaching because there is something incredibly special about watching people soften, open up, and leave feeling lighter than when they arrived. Seeing someone walk in stressed or disconnected, then leave calmer, brighter, and more present is the most rewarding part of what I do.
Something people often connect with is that I teach from lived experience, not perfection. I understand what it feels like to be overwhelmed, busy, self critical, or disconnected from your body. My classes are not about being the bendiest person in the room or getting everything right. They are about feeling welcome, supported, and meeting yourself exactly where you are.
My style is warm, down to earth, and accessible, making experiences suitable for beginners as well as those with experience. I continue to deepen my own learning through practice and study, and I care deeply about creating spaces that feel inclusive, calming, and uplifting.
At the heart of it all, Mat & Moon is about helping people return to themselves through movement, mindfulness, and a little moon magic.
