What you'll do
Start your silver clay journey in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you with a live online class guided by Rachel, a friendly teacher and skilled jewellery maker.
During this virtual experience, you will get all the help and support that you need without having to travel. A handy craft kit will be sent to you, providing everything you need for the jewellery-making class and to even carry making more silver creations afterwards.
Explore different techniques including rolling and cutting the clay, as well as making and using moulds. You will learn how to prepare the clay, fire and polish. With a wide range of jewellery options, there's something for everyone.
This lovely process allows you to be creative in an accessible way, so anyone can do it! Use treasures from your life as inspiration (or even to make your moulds) or just allow the process to guide you. Depending on your designs and your choice of size you will make four to six pieces of silver.

What you'll get in your craft kit
All the tools and materials needed, including a blow torch and heat mat.
What you'll need
- Access to WiFi, screen and sound.
- Small quantity of olive oil in a pot.
- Pliers (not essential but helpful).
- Somewhere to dry the clay (e.g. radiator, hot plate, dehumidifier, hair dryer, or dehydrator).
Your teacher
I first learnt to crochet as a child and spent hours and hours making, sewing, knitting and learning every new technique possible in art, craft and design. After a degree in graphics and 16 years of experience teaching Textiles, Graphics, Art & Design and Design & Technology, I strongly believe in developing my own practice to be the best tutor I can be. I am continually inspired by my students of all ages, so it's definitely a two-way street!
