London Cookery School runs Dim Sum Classes and Sushi Classes in London.

Established in 2011, we have been teaching specialist classes in Dim Sum and Sushi for over 10 years.

We love what we do and as an instructor, there is no greater joy than to see learners meet and exceed their own expectations, making beautiful plates of dim sum and sushi, enjoying a quick photo before settling down to eat.

Your chef and teacher will take you through each recipe in easily followed steps, so you'll have no problem recreating the dishes time and time again back in your own kitchen!

We want to share our knowledge with as many people as possible.
Classes are fun and we really enjoy teaching. We love it when students learn something, not only about the class, but often they learn something about themselves. Some truly surprise themselves when they finish the class with something that's not only tasty but also beautiful and they know they have to skills to make it again.

The lesson was great!

The Dim Sum class with Will was excellent. Will is a fantastic teacher, great energy and communication, making all the steps very easy to follow. The place is very clean and well organised. All the materials are provided, there's no need to bring anything.

I booked this event for my anniversary and would absolutely recommend Our teacher Will was fabulous, charismatic and very attentive. He was very clear when teaching and made sure everybody was able to see what he was doing. All of the materials are provided to ensure you made delicious sushi which you are then able to have at the end of the class. We had booked the VIP package and the drinks were definitely bottomless, as we were sticking to just prosecco, Will was kind enough to just leave the bottle for us on the table in a bottle chiller to make it more convenient for us. We learnt a lot from this class and will definitely be making sushi at home very soon! Cannot recommend Will and this class enough!

Me and my boyfriend came to the Dim Sum class as a birthday gift. We had a lovely experience & Will was a great teacher. Very funny and made you feel at ease. The dim sum we made was simple but tasty and now we are already planning to show more people how to make them using the skills that we learnt in the class. I really enjoyed our dim sum cooking class - we made about 20 dumplings each which were delicious! Our instructor Will talked us through the whole process and we had plenty of time to make everything.

This was a present for my friend who loves dumplings so I thought it would be cute to learn how to make them together! We learned to make Dim Sum which was super fun, and we were really impressed with what we made. It was easy to follow and we now feel confident to make our own at home! The teacher Will was really engaging and funny and made everyone feel very comfortable. The whole process was pretty straightforward and well organised.

The only con really was that for the price (I believe I paid 70 pp) I would have expected the environment to be a little nicer. It was very grey and dark (no natural light) and barely any decorations or anything to make the environment feel fun and stimulating. It felt like we were learning in a really dull classroom, which is a shame considering how lively the teacher was – he was doing all of the work! Ambience could definitely be improved, it felt a bit cheap, but the quality of what we learned and effort of the teacher made it worth it in the end. Thank you Will!

The instructions on what were were doing were ok and in all myself and my sons enjoyed it. Hiowever many parts felt rught and what was totally unecesary was how rude the instructor was. I think he thought he was being funny but really turned me off. I will not be recommending this school to anyone I talk to. When we left my the boys asked me why the instructor Will, was so rude to me! Who knows but well done for ruining what was a pleasant experience.

The afternoon/evening was fun we started a little late but Will was very accommodating, patient and brought a touch of fun to our Team event with his Bao jokes! The teacher was a lovely person. Apart from teaching very patiently and clearly, he also made it more fun by making lots of dim sum jokes! He was also very accommodating - we had 2 vegetarians in the group which we forgot to mention in advance. He made every effort in the last minute to prepare the veggy fillings for them, so that they could enjoy the class with the rest of us. Because of that, we ran late but he didn't cut corners and stayed as long as needed. I highly recommend this class.

I attended the Dim Sum 3h cooking class with my boyfriend and it was delightful. Our teacher Will was quick to make all the guests feel relaxed and excited and kept us engaged all the way through. The way we were taught all the tricks for the dough and the fillings and the shaping of the dim sums was easy to follow and very fun to learn. Will is obviously experienced in what he does and is also capable of lightening up the mood for beginners who find the shaping of the dim sum difficult. The class ended with our cooked dim sums tasting great and a lot of interesting new knowledge regarding this dish. I would highly recommend as a gift for a parent or partner or friend, it’s a great experience

Antonina was a great teacher and very patient with us considering we were such a large group! She was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience fun and interactive for our group.

The materials and kit provided were excellent. Really helpful that some of the prep was done before we arrived as the cooking class was perfect timing wise.

Definitely good value for money! Additional drink purchases were also very reasonable.

The only negative I would mention is that the venue is a little rustic and the lighting was quite harsh. It's also a little bit run-down in parts, but it didn't detract from the experience.

What was the teacher like?

Annalina provided great group demonstrations and then clear 1:1 demonstrations. She was reassuring and concise.

How was the venue (if applicable)? -

All good. I would have liked aprons to be provided, and perhaps drinks more suitable for a dim sum class e.g. tea.
If materials were provided, did you like them?

Yes, all materials including my seperate vegetarian fillings were well prepped and organised.

Absolutely fantastic experience We had a great instructor who gave a very clear and effective demonstration of the technique, and also gave us plenty of background into the process and the ingredients! It was a very enjoyable evening and the dumplings tasted amazing! Would highly recommend

Bought as a surprise birthday activity for a friend and she loved it. We had a relaxing time. The teacher was attentive, friendly and professional. We went home feeling accomplished and full of tasty dim sum. Definitely recommend and will be trying these recipes at home.

Will was a great instructor. Our class was fun, well paced and easy to follow and we made some really great tasting dim sum. We’d suggest this for anyone wanting something new to try with friends.

Teacher was great - very clear and ran the class at a good pace. The food itself also tasted great and I would definitely cook at home when guests are round - as long as you follow the instructions you should be fine!

Really thorough learning, fun and tasty when everything was made! Lovely instructor, took her time - very friendly and her instructions were clear. Love that you can also order drinks with a QR code.

What a great experience! 3 hours very well spent. I had a great time learning how to make the different types of dumplings and it's a pleasure to be able to eat them afterwards. Good value for money. I recommend.

We had a great time on this dim sum cooking class. Our teacher, Will, was fun and in control at all times. He guided us though in an entertaining way, and made us feel comfortable immediately. And the dim sum was very tasty!

Great fun - I would definitely recommend. I'm going to be booking on to one of the other cooking classes the school offers.

I really enjoyed the dim sum cooking class. It was interesting, entertaining, enjoyable experience. Would love to return with my kids. Teacher was knowledgeable, patient and making sure everything went smoothly. Food was delicious.

The instruction was second to none! Great learning environment and very tasty food. Will be booking again for sure.
Mine were gluten free too, as they cater for all food intolerances and/or allergies.
