  • 5/5 from Kristin Francis, attended Mar 2025: Had a great time! My son and I loved every minute of the class.
  • 5/5 from Christopher Lee Evans, attended Feb 2025: Anna was a great teacher - she was so bubbly and her passion for fermentation was infectious! We learnt so much and more importantly we feel excited to continue on our fermentation journey at home. It was great to try the different tasters in the class as it gave us ideas of what was possible and flavour combinations to explore. Lastly I really appreciate the class notes being sent out over email so that we could fully focus in the class and didn't have to worry about taking notes.
  • 4/5 from Martina Krausová, attended Jun 2024: I came to learn about Kimchi making and have had a chance to learn processes of lactic acid fermentation. The session was in a small group, which allowed for questions to be answered. There has been jars to be used if those brought were not the right size. I have enjoyed the session as it gave a base for starting your own ferments. I have left with 3 jars of ferments made on the day and many ideas around possible combinations to experiment with.
  • 5/5 from Sarah Sara, attended Dec 2023: The teacher was lovely. She was engaging and explained everything well. We had a lovely small group, lots of laughter and lovely way to spend the Sunday evening. THANK YOU very much Anna
  • 5/5 from Jack Medley, attended Sep 2023: Great fun, really informative and we got lots of nice fermented food to take home!
  • 5/5 from Miriam O'Hanlon, attended Apr 2023: Great class. We had so much fun. The teaching was at just the right level and made for a relaxed enjoyable atmosphere. All three recipes are fantastic
  • 5/5 from Min Lee, attended Apr 2023: She was knowledgeable and encouraged us very well engaged to the workshop. Her butter was so delicious! Thank you for today.
  • 5/5 from Christabel, attended Apr 2023: What a wonderfully wholesome way to spend a Sunday afternoon! We learned so much from our knowledgeable and interesting teacher, and our ferments smell great - we can't wait to crack into them once they've pickled to perfection.
  • 5/5 from Ariadna Pui, attended Feb 2023: It was an amazing class (got it as a gift) that I am so happy I got to experience. As a fun of eating fermented stuff but with not too much hand-on experience, this was an excellent introductory course. Lovely and helpful teacher, well prepared and presented class with all materials handy, it was just the perfect way to spend part of my Sunday!
  • 5/5 from Sylvia, attended Dec 2022: Absolutely loved my class and its resulting fermented goods are de-li-cious! Our teacher has a wealth of tips (and opinions ha ha) that will make me more likely to try again once I've eaten all my first batches. Highly recommended!
  • 5/5 from Giselle Easterling, attended Jan 2022: Great session learnt alot and made kimchi sauerkraut and preserved lemons I would highly recommend it if you’re interested in fermentation
  • 4/5 from Victoria Simpson, attended Apr 2021: The class was good and the tutor was very knowledgeable. I arrived early but couldn't find the class, so was actually 10 minutes late. This was easily avoided. Due to the pandemic there were no opportunities to taste things, which was understandable but still a loss to what the course could be in 'normal' times.
  • 5/5 from Avinder Bhinder, attended May 2019: Really enjoyed the fermentation class and learnt so much. I've been inspired to continue fermenting at home! So much cheaper than buying in.

The Fermentarium is an independent organisation dedicated to promoting the small-scale production of “real” fermented food and drink. The adventure began in 2014, beginning with sourdough bread and pizza making.
Owners, Simon and David, wanted to share their knowledge and experience with others and started running lactic fermentation classes. Eventually, they were joined by Anna in 2016 and added further classes to their repertoire including kombucha, soft fermented drinks, cultured condiments and dairy ferments.
They run interactive and exciting classes that share the love for fermented foods with others. Whether you're a newbie or well experienced, anyone can join. Corporate events and private courses can also be catered for.
