If you've always wanted to take up knitting but were bewildered by the amount of information out there, this beginner-friendly workshop is a brilliant place to start. Whether you're looking for a way to make your own clothes or a fun craft to share with a friend or loved one, you'll love learning from Heather, an experienced local crafter.
Everything you need to get started will be ready and waiting for you before the class begins, so you spend less time thinking about the details and more time learning this soothing, mindful craft. During the class, you'll be learning some basic stitches and techniques that'll give you an ideal foundation to help you get started with knitting.
Don't worry about getting in over your head, as Heather will be on hand throughout the session to offer her tips, guidance, and a helping hand where needed. You'll leave the class with some nifty knitting skills under your belt, as well as everything you made during the class to show off to friends and family at home.
What you'll get
  • 2 x set of bamboo knitting needles (5mm and 8mm).
  • Selection of 5 different yarns (a range of fibres including sustainable or recycled materials and yarn corded in Heather's studio).
  • Selection of beads and hoops for creating embellished samples.

Heather’s specific interests lie in the link between making, health and wellbeing. A desire to inspire others through teaching has led to a range of exciting workshops for students and creatives in partnership with others. In response to the need for us to stay at home, Heather has adapted her popular range of workshops into a series of online videos, accompanied by a materials kit delivered to your door.
Heather (MA RCA, FHEA) works as a senior lecturer with numerous educational institutions and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
