  • 5/5 from Drew Chateau, attended Oct 2026: Had the workshop run by Angelo and he explained the Kintsugi tradition and then the method we’d be using. Instructions were really clear and workshop was fun with nice people too.
  • 5/5 from Alicia Zahedi-De Wolfe, attended Aug 2026: Really enjoyed this class, fun to do something new and our teacher, Palace (apologies if wrong spelling!) was really informative and engaging
  • 4/5 from Calia Afeltra, attended Jul 2026: The teacher arrived 30 minutes late which was quite disappointing as it felt really rushed.
  • 5/5 from Lyn Dizon, attended May 2026: This was such a great class!! Nam was lovely and walked through the process step by step so clearly! Would recommend!!
  • 5/5 from Rebecca Hemans, attended May 2026: We had a fantastic time. Our instructor was very knowledgeable, kind and extremely approachable. He created a lovely calm environment which helped us enjoy the experience! The two hours went in a blink!
  • 5/5 from Claire Soencer, attended Feb 2026: Great class and lovely teacher - very helpful and attentive. Cernamics is a lovely space and we’ll definitely be back!
  • 5/5 from Caroline Giadin, attended Feb 2026: Such a great activity to do! We went there as a surprise for our friend's birthday, and we all loved it. Nam was great at explaining us what to do, making us feel comfortable and telling us about the history of Kintsugi. We would definitely like come back and take another class! Bertie the pug was obviously a nice added bonus :)
  • 4/5 from Morgan Miller, attended Feb 2026: TL;DR: Great class (8/10) with a lovely keepsake to take home. Well-run and supportive, just slightly unclear at the start and could’ve had a bit more energy. We really enjoyed the class and would rate it 8/10. One of the things we loved most was that we didn’t just leave with a great memory — we also had something physical to take home with us, which made the experience feel even more special. The teacher gave a thorough demonstration at the start and was very hands-on when needed, answering questions and offering guidance throughout. At the same time, she gave us space to chat and enjoy the activity, which made the atmosphere feel relaxed rather than overly structured. The other couples in the session were also super friendly, which really added to the overall experience — although of course that’s not something the class itself can control. If we had one piece of feedback, it would be that at the beginning it wasn’t completely clear where to wait or go for the class. It did start on time, which was great, but a little more direction at the start would have helped. We also felt that a bit more energy or confidence from the teacher would have elevated the experience even further. Overall, it was a really enjoyable class and would definitely recommend it.
  • 5/5 from Tenna Vilhelmsen, attended Dec 2025: This was an amazing experience. I came in with my grandmother's broken coffee jar and although it wasn't an easy fix, Nam made it such a peaceful and wonderful experience. He has so much passion and knowledge of craft and is an absolute joy to be around as well as an endless stream of encouragement and patience. And if you haven't broken anything sentimental that you need to fix, he'll provide a beautiful bowl for you to break and fix on the day. Wonderful class. Thank you so much!
  • 5/5 from Riley Grant, attended Dec 2025: The class was alot of fun and nam was a great instructor and very friendly
  • 5/5 from Huei Wang, attended Nov 2025: In a spacious, bright setting with an easy, relaxed rhythm, I picked up a new skill and managed to mend something I treasure. Our kintsugi instructor was friendly, approachable, and clearly knowledgeable.
  • 5/5 from Hoosen, attended Nov 2025: My parents absolutely loved the class, the instructors and the bowls they got to take home!
  • 5/5 from Megan Lennox, attended Oct 2025: I really enjoyed the kintsugi class. Found it fun and therapetic and we both have nice bowls to take home and the teacher would come over to help if you needed it. If I had to give feedback then I would have like more tuition to learn about the overall process. For instance what are the best ratios of glue to gold and how might they change the texture of the lines, what are the options to make bowls that are water proof so you could hold tea in them, what are the best ways to repair the very smalls missing flakes, what are other materials that might be suitable to kintsugi like glass or bones, etc.

A rare and hidden pottery Eden in the heart of east London, Stoke Newington. Cernamic studio in Stoke Newington was founded, created, and built during the first lockdown of the pandemic, through hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. Nam and Susi two professional ceramicists run this fun and affordable pottery studio open for everyone from all walks of life.
Nam Tran is an award-winning practitioner who gives lectures and demos at universities and exhibits internationally. A ceramic lecturer and head of the departments in design and multi-media with Kensington and Chelsea college. Nam specialises in wheel-thrown raku, bringing years of experience and craftsmanship to every object made.
Tran's work is focused primarily on exploring the physical properties of clay and material experimentation is a strong characteristic of his work. He has been developing making enclosed forms that are much stronger than open forms and therefore resonates well with the alternative firing technique he uses. His work is dominated by thrown pieces that subtly echo the urban roots and conceptual design. Nam Tran first made pots as a teenager on a wheel in his own bedroom and remembers being captivated by the experience. With his unique alternatives methods and approach to ceramics, Nam Tran identifies rules and manipulates and bends them.
