Explore your artistic ideas in a whole new way by discovering the wonderful craft of lino printing.

Lino printing offers a fantastic way to transform any illustration into a design you can print again and again, perfect for decorating a huge range of projects. Lino printing blocks can be used to apply a design or a repeat pattern to different surfaces and fabrics.

The tutorial is designed for crafters of all abilities but it’ll be ideal for anyone who is new to lino cutting and printing. Hone your skills and enjoy wonderful inspiration, with the support of a craft expert on hand to help you along the way.

The Hobbycraft Artisan will show you how to work with your chosen template, how to cut into the lino tile with your tool and how to get printing with colourful inks. Enjoy mastering the techniques and sparking your creativity as you expand your artistic skillset.

At the end, you’ll have prints made with your newly cut lino design, ready to show off to friends and family. You’ll be able to repeat the print with your lino tile as many times as you like to personalise gifts, greetings cards and more.

You’ll be sent a follow-up video which will be live for 12 months afterwards to guide you in your own time.

  • 5/5 from Bekki Harris-Smith, attended Sep 2026: This was gifted to me for my birthday and it was really easy to book. The workshop itself was a lot of fun and I came out of it feeling more confident in being able to do Lino printing. Gisela was a brilliant Artisan!
  • 5/5 from Rachel Finn, attended Sep 2026: Lovely lady running the class and the kit that arrived from Hobbycraft had everything you needed.
  • 5/5 from Lisa, attended Sep 2026: What a smashing hour and a half! Our tutor was so friendly and explained things in a really clear way. I don’t think anyone could’ve felt rushed by her, but I did feel we could’ve perhaps done with the workshop being a little bit longer. That aside, I loved it.
  • 5/5 from Sarah and Colin Bayes, attended Aug 2026: The course was excellent - Irene was an extremely good teacher, going through everything very thoroughly and repeating if necessary. She answered our questions so that we (all three of us!) knew exactly what to do when. I thought the lino cutting would be the difficult bit and the printing easy, but in fact it was the other way round. We were guided through each step so we all kept up and knew what we were doing. Will definitely persevere with lino printing.
  • 5/5 from Sue Noble, attended Aug 2026: Brilliant teacher and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Rachel Webster, attended Aug 2026: Great beginners course for lino printing. The equipment that was sent through the post was great, the instructor was friendly and helpful - allowed any questions during the course. Clear instructions throughout the session and it's great they send a video so you can revisit it at anytime. Would recommend

  • 5/5 from Emma Beesley, attended Aug 2026: Wasn't sure what to expect as I've never done a craft workshop online before and I am totally new to lino printing. Had a really lovely evening, very small group with cameras off but our instructor was knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. The pace was good. Really happy with the experience and keen to do another one day.

I thoroughly enjoyed my class - just the most relaxing way to spend time on a Saturday morning! Thanks Gina

  • 5/5 from Joanne Wyatt, attended Apr 2026: I thoroughly enjoyed the beginners Lino print workshop this morning. Gina did a brilliant job, taking us through each step, not rushing us, and answering all our questions, with extra hints and tips on going forwards. My final piece wasnt great, but I now feel confident in having another go and trying out the different ideas and products that Gina suggested.
  • 5/5 from Catherine Blacklock, attended Apr 2026: Very clear instructions and lots of information. The instructor was very friendly and open to questions.
  • 4/5 from Angie Joslin, attended Apr 2026: Each to redeem gift card, fairly good availability of classes and prompt delivery of kit. Good value. Teacher was good, some difficulty with the screen, seemed blurry at times. Paint was meant to be water soluble but I am difficulty cleaning the lino roller clean. Roller wasn't the easiest to use. Overall fun few hours, easy to get hang of and would do one of these courses again.
  • 5/5 from Patricia, attended Mar 2026: An enjoyable and informative workshop. Lovely tutor who explained things well. Keen to do more. Thoroughly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Louise Feltham, attended Mar 2026: Very good. Gina gave clear explanations at an easy pace to follow. Thoroughly enjoyable and excellent value. Highly recommend
  • 5/5 from Sarah, attended Mar 2026: It was great. Gina’s instructions and demonstration were very clear. It was actually quite therapeutic too. I had a few attempts at printing but I couldn’t get the brayer to roll in the ink at all, although it rolled on the lino. I was disappointed with this as the prints didn’t come out how I would’ve liked. Gina was helpful with her advice about this though so I’m going to persevere and give it another go!. Thank you Gina.
  • 5/5 from Andy Mackenzie, attended Feb 2026: Great class. Very friendly, positive and supportive teacher. Good timings. All good. Be aware, the delivery of kit is Royal Mail and I almost didn't get mine as they gave me no tracking information and they required a signature. Only received, by chance, when I was home for half an hour and luckily they delivered when I was home. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do the course.
  • 5/5 from Emma Rushmere, attended Feb 2026: I really enjoyed this class! Gina was a lovely teacher, incredibly helpful and not judgy when it felt like I was asking silly questions. We got given the whole kit and 2 options to Lino cut, focusing on the most basic one first to help as a beginner and it was a really nice experience!
  • 5/5 from Carolyn Rowe, attended Feb 2026: Great teacher. Fun project. Mastering carving the lino tiles will take some time and effort.
  • 5/5 from Michael Wade, attended Feb 2026: Excellent starter kit and instruction. The zoom course made a big difference as it helped me with the areas where I was struggling to print. Great tutorial who was very clear with her instruction and answering questions
  • 5/5 from Ria Parry, attended Jan 2026: I really enjoyed the peace and quiet the Lino printing course provided. I’m so happy with my print. Thank you Chrissie
  • 5/5 from Miss Miranda Bray, attended Jan 2026: Thank you for the class a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I am pleased with learning a new skill and looking forward to doing the second Lino printing design in my spare time.
  • 5/5 from Emma Browne, attended Jan 2026: Gisela, the tutor, was positive, calm, friendly and explained everything really well. I felt relaxed and enjoyed learning a new skill. The kit contained everything I needed to get started and the class was about the right length.
  • 4/5 from Kirstin A McKenzie, attended Jan 2026: Tutor was friendly and experienced. Received tools in plenty of time for the workshop. Class started on time, tutor chatted freely during workshop, but closed class 10 minutes early. The only slight disappointment was that it took so long to carve the tile, we did not have time to ink or print anything.
  • 4/5 from Kay Hope, attended Jan 2026: Gisela was a very good tutor and definitely knew all about Lino printing, the class went at an ok pace and were given lots of tips My only criticism is the tool that we used it would have been helpful to have received instructions in the box so I had a clue on using I wasted quite a bit of time trying to put the blade into the correct position. My initial print isn’t great but as a beginner I’m pleased I managed to do it and with practice and patience I’m sure I will produce a good print.
  • 5/5 from Chris Taylor, attended Nov 2025: Thoroughly enjoyed it. Learnt all the skills required. I just need to keep practicing them until I perfect them. A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Her detailed explanation about materials, how to add more things to make the outcome nice was really helpful. I carved along side her while she explains throughout the session. Thank you Gisela showing me a new art to add +1 to my creative art work. My first lino print got dry very quick. Print didn't come perfect. As you said they don't need to be perfect. It's all how you see it. I will try my best follow your instructions. To get a clear picture than this. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Will be in touch to show all my creations in future. Thank you HOBBY CRAFT.

Love everything about this class. Five stars from me.
  • 1/5 from Rachel Pepper, attended Aug 2025: Very disappointed as my kit did not turn up! As I have no laptop a family had driven a long way to let me borrow theirs, only to find it was a waste of their time as my kit had not turned up despite chasing it up. Hobbycraft answer was’ the booking remains in place’ this is not ideal as it took a great deal to arrange in the first place!
  • 1/5 from Jennifer Race, attended Jul 2025: Class was cancelled the day before.

  • 5/5 from Wendy Saywood, attended Jun 2025: Really great class to get started on doing this again as I've not done it since school probably 45 years ago. I'm really keen now to do other designs for things like christmas cards. The teacher was excellent - really explained things clearly and great at answering questions and making us feel that nothing was too silly to ask.

  • 5/5 from Andrea Longden, attended Apr 2025: So easy to follow. Lovely tutor. It was a Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon for the 3 of us. The kit was good and we can't wait to give it another go
  • 5/5 from Hanora Crowley, attended Apr 2025: Good tutorial, clear instructions. I didn't manage to get to the point of finishing myelin cut let alone print it but will do so at my own, slower pace, the 1.5 hrs is about right as muscles in my hand are starting to ache from the repetitive cutting motions. The inclusion of the red hand guard was useful - especially for me as my tool slipped a couple of times. Good value for money and a pleasurable way to spend some time
