A 3-week course for 9+ year olds to gain confidence on a sewing machine

What you'll do
This 3-week after-school course is ideal if your child or teen is interested in machine sewing but doesn't have the confidence or basic skills to get started. Here, our experienced sewing teacher, Lauren, will teach the basic techniques, and students will make a drawstring bag and a personalised appliqué cushion.
Notes:
- Includes threading and setting up a sewing machine, different stitches, hemming, appliqué, and making and joining pieces of a simple pattern.
- This is based on learning on a machine you own, but if you don't have one, no problem. We have a pool of typical entry-level machines available to hire for an additional £8 for the whole course.
- This is a drop-off course, but a carer may stay if that works better with your child. Just let us know so we can plan the layout.

All materials are included. Sewing kits are available to use if needed, and machines are available to hire for an extra £8 for the 3 weeks (payable on the first session).
