2 hours Class size 1 to 4 (public classes), 1 to 10

label £125 (£20 per class surcharge applies for private classes)

Join this London experience and make your very own Ikebana flower arrangement with a modern twist.

You will learn all about Japanese flower arranging called Ikebana. It dates back to the sixth century when Buddhist monks made floral offerings for alters. There is great importance on seasonality, minimalism and thoughtful placement of stems that is in tune with nature.

Delve into this gentle and important art form and step back from your busy life. Unwind, connect with nature, and enjoy learning something new.

This floristry class will be lead by an experienced teacher who has a passion for all things floral. They will introduce you to the main techniques and principles of Ikebana flower design so you can create your own masterpiece.

We will provide you with stunning, seasonal branches, stems and flowers as well as an ikebana vase and Kenzan —flower frog— to perfect your floral arrangement. You can then take your ikebana flowers home and proudly display them.

We encourage using your own creativity and personal touch while being aware of the basic principles of Ikebana.

If you want some things to do in London that will help you slow down then this class is perfect. Try it for a team building event, birthday party, or just a nice weekend activity.

Khin our Ikebana teacher was a pleasure to work with. We learnt a new flower arranging technique which was creative and totally immersive. We made two flower arrangements in the two hours and took all the materials home to recreate it again!

We all enjoyed the class very much and learnt a lot in a short time. Ken was delightful and helpful. The workshop space was rather tight. A larger room would have been better. Overall good value for money.

This Ikebana flower arranging workshop was a surprise birthday present for me and I absolutely loved it. Khin was an amazing teacher. He encouraged me throughout and allowed me to introduce my own creativity into floral arranging. The classical background music made my session very therapeutic. I would highly recommend this class for anyone who loves flowers and / or floral arrangements but would like a good foundation in the art. I learnt so much about Ikebana that I feel comfortable applying for my home floral arrangements. This was a certainly unique, useful and memorable experience.
