So pleased I signed up to this workshop. I was worried I wouldn't understand what I was supposed to do, but came away with knowing how to do the double and treble stitches confidently. Ended up challenging myself to crochet the beginners' cushion.

The course was very inexpensive and I walked away with my own tote bag/wool and crocket needle! Definitely will consider doing another one. Our teacher was the best. Went at our pace and always happy to help if we got a bit muddled!

Jenny was so kind and helpful to my 10 year old daughter. We booked a 1:1 workshop to try out a machine before we committed to buying it. My daughter is a complete beginner and Jenny helped build her confidence whilst showing her how to set the machine up and get started with the basics. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to find out more about sewing. We will definitely be back for future 1:1 workshops and we bought the machine!

My teacher Jacqui Kelly was/is amazing at teaching, my Brain takes time to process & she was amazing! As she took her time with me, explained over & over again, she drew me diagrams to explain the instructions if I was struggling, she printed off the instructions so they were larger print & spaced apart so I could read & digress it better, VERY encouraging all the time, I also had access to wass app group too, if I get frustrated saying it’s taking ages to understand, she’d say I’d rather you understand slowly, than you rush ahead

I booked this session because I wanted to get back into sewing after a looooong aversion, but was struggling to get back to gips with my machine. Jenny at the Wimbledon branch was so helpful and tailored the class exactly to what I needed, reminding me of the basics and giving me advice on setting up my own machine and ideas for fixing issues I was having. She also pointed my in the right direction for materials I'd need. Happy to say that I was able to go home and complete my first project on my own machine. Super value for money and loved that Jenny was able to offer specific, tailored advice. Thank you!

The store was not too busy so you can listen and not be distracted with customers around you.

I had a great begginers embroidery session! The instructor was really knowledgeable and friendly. I learned how to start a sampler and some basic stitches, like chain, running stitches and French knots. I was able to bring a friend to the session and we were given materials to practice on at home.

It was a good workshop, my son enjoyed it but after a while got bored. The lady Karen was nice and quite attentive. However maybe making one for us to see physically will be great and also everyone having a picture of what we are making will be better as there was only one between 5 children. Also the workshop needs to be an hour. Half an hour isn't enough time especially when you have younger ones things take more time. We would book another workshop to see what that's like as I feel for the workshops are good value for money.

I wanted to relearn how to crochet, and Jacqui who was my teacher was amazing and very patient with me. We class I was in was in a small classroom at the back and it was the perfect room for a small workshop. Within the beginners workshop they provided me with all the materials I needed, so didn't have to worry about bringing anything. I received 2 yarns of wool, guidance notes and a crochet needle.

As it was the beginners class I learned how to hold the crochet, how to start, and three different type of stitches. I would say it was good value for money and I would do it again. I really liked the Intimacy of the classroom.

Last Saturday, I had my 1-2-1 knitting workshop with Chloe, teaching me the basics of knitting. Beginners guide to crotchet workshop

I liked the material provided but it would have been even better if we could pick our yarn colours and to use light colour yarn as it is easier to see the stitches.
The class was very good value for money.
I liked the class was small, consisting of only 4 people so Jacqui could divide her time between us and really assist us when we needed help.

Jenny was great at solving an issue I had with the sewing machine and tought me how to get started, what to avoid doing and several different stitches. We did lots in 1 hour and even managed to make a little purse with a zip! She was very clear and kind. I would definitely recommend Hobbycraft.

I booked my 3 grandchildren onto this course for the end of the half term and they loved it. Even though they are different ages (8, 5 & 3) The simple idea was so engaging that they all couldn’t wait to display their rainbows once they went home.
The woman who ran the class, Karen, was very welcoming and kind.

Wow. I have always wanted to do this Granny Square course and I wasn’t disappointed. Jacqui, our tutor, was amazing. She was so helpful, patient and encouraging and she made the course fun. She was always so positive and this enabled me to push myself. I have learnt so much about crocheting and yarns and now feel able to create so many things with confidence.

The venue was great, all the staff were friendly and I was made to feel extremely welcome. The materials were fabulous too and most definitely the course was value for money.

I thoroughly enjoyed the last six weeks and would highly recommend it.

We have stopped booking classes at Croydon now, due to rude and unkind staff members. Wimbledon is a little more of a drive for us but well worth it to avoid the Croydon store staff!

My daughter really enjoyed this class and wants to do another one. I think it would be quite difficult to complete the class within 30 minutes though especially with young children. We were there for nearly an hour. I thought the teacher was lovely and incredibly enthusiastic but I didn't think it was professional of a man (assume manager) to walk past making a comment that the class had overrun.

Venue was good but a bit cold. They supplied all the equipment to use and keep and is good quality.

Jacqui was a great tutor. She calmly took us through the steps, the explanations were clear, we could work at our own pace within the class structure. The group size was perfect for a beginners class too.
We were shown the basics of starting, chain stitch, changing colour, double crochet and finishing/tying off.
1.5 hrs flew by, but we covered it all.
Goody bag with supplies, a project pattern and instructions of what we learnt.
Great fun!

Another really great clas taught by Jo. There were 4 of us in total of mssively varying age ranges and skills! Venue was comfortable - warm without being too hot and we were comfortably seated around a table at the back of the store.

As usual got a great pack of 2 balls of wool, a crochet hook and printed guide to what we were going to do all in a HobbyCraft tote bag. We learned how to cast on and create the first 4-5 rows of a granny square and how to change wool on each row (or stay with the same colour).

Considering materials provided and what we lreared I thought it was very good value for
money - best thing was Jo's patience in being able to deal with us all being at different stages!

Thinking about signing up for the 6 week granny square course next but I see to have missed the one starting in January!

This course is absolutely excellent. The way the pattern is structured really helps you learn lots of skills in a phased way and the way the lovely Jacqui teaches the course helps you learn much better how to parse crochet patterns, giving you the skills to make much more than just the blanket. This is so much more than just a ‘let’s make a blanket’ course, it is a really great way to turn beginner crocheters into confident crochet addicts!

The venue was ok but it would have been nice to have the option of a glass of water or a cup of tea and available toilets.

Star Wreath. Sharon our teacher was excellent she explained and demonstrated very clearly and was most helpful with ideas. The wreath is very tasteful but could have done with red berries not black and I am not sure about the hessian ribbon. I am replacing it with red! A very enjoyable class and look forward to booking further classes.

I cannot recommend Chloe highly enough. She’s an excellent and highly skilled knitting teacher.
Chloe gave me very clear instructions about knitting the different stitches and how to follow a pattern.
She demonstrated and explained how to cast on and off, how to pick up dropped stitches and how to go back and correct stitches on lower rows.
Chloe’s a very encouraging and re-assuring teacher, I have really enjoyed learning to knit with her and I highly recommend her classes.

Jenny was welcoming, encouraging and she delivered a straightforward and excellent class for me. I came to this 1 to 1 a little trepidatous as I was frightened of my rarely used overlocker. I wanted to use it but didn't have the confidence to as it had stopped working, got stuck (my error & inexperience) and I had unthreaded it (wrong). Jenny, sorted that out with me, highlighted the main things to look out for during the session, highlighted those elements in the instruction manual too (with my permission) Really helpful and she was a delight to learn from - she also said take it home and use it and I am going to - my trepidation has diminished. Chloe was there to teach us. She was clear in her instructions, patient, offered us advise and created a very relaxed environment for us. The area was quiet and there was sufficient space to undertake the craft session, although the seats were a little low. All materials were provided and we took home the excess we did not use. It was a fun and enjoyable session with a good friend and we have something that we are proud of now! The session was priced appropriately.

I loved this course and am sad it is over! Jacqui is an exceptionally gifted, patient, and kind teacher, and the participants in the class were all lovely. I learned a lot and am well on my way to having a complete, totally unique blanket.

The structure of the course was excellent: learning a new square with new stitches, techniques, and elements of pattern reading each week- a very thoughtful progression and way of building and reinforcing new skills.

It was great to be able to choose our own yarn colours, and the inclusion of the materials makes this course great value for money.

I would happily participate in similarly structured and priced courses- perhaps a hexi-cardigan class or something else that involves more complex stitches and pattern reading. I've probably had enough of Granny Squares for the moment, but there is still SO much to learn and a "beginner plus" class would be wonderful.

Brilliant Intro to Crochet class taught by Jo at Wimbledon Hobbycraft who managed to teach a fab course despite us all arriving at different times due to traffic issues.

We learned casting on, simple chains, double and treble crochet and half treble. We were provided with a crochet hook, two nicely wrapped balls of wool (I got mustard and grey which are favourite colours) and a cotton bag.

I thought it was great value for money and feel confident enough that I bought more balls of wool the way out so I can try and crochet a small blanket before moving onto the granny squares course!

A one to one class was just what I needed. Having previously attended a one off beginner's class - where I actually learnt to crochet :-) there were a few things I either forgot or never quite grasped. Jackie went through everything with me and answered all my questions. Jackie is an amazing teacher and this a great session if you are struggling as a beginner. However, it would also be good for crocheters of any level.

Really great class. Perfect for absolute beginners and people like me who’ve had a go and messed up and then given up!

Jacque was a great teacher, really good rapport with everyone and reassuring when we all messed up at some point. She also had us ‘start from the middle’ so had some swatches ready for us to crochet into and it showed she had clearly given a lot of thought time and effort into setting us up for success.

The materials were lovely too, autumnal and great quality.

My 13 year old daughter and I loved this class with Jacqui! We'd previously tried to learn the very basics via YouTube and, sitting with Jacqui, were able to make sense of it all and see where we were going wrong. Very useful and great fun! We came away having learned to crochet a foundation chain, double stitch, treble stitch and half treble stitch, as well as how to tie off/start when switching yarns. We've both come home and crocheted a full scarf in the couple of days since the class - we're hooked!
Jacqui was very clear to follow, very patient and friendly - we'd both love to do another class with her to learn more crochet techniques. We'll be back!

A very useful introduction to crochet. There is no substitute for hands-on learning with live, in-person support. Wonderful to leave with the ability and materials to complete a project- or several.

I'd familiarised myself with some basics prior to the class by watching YouTube videos and making a few attempts at home. This was really helpful, but not essential as everything is covered in the class.

I appreciated the opportunity to ask about things I found confusing or difficult. It was a huge help to be able to physically pass my work to the teacher for help in figuring out where things went awry and to get tips for fixing my specific mistakes.

Jacqui was an amazing, helpful and thoughtful teacher. She was incredibly encouraging and made me feel very confident even though it was my first time at crochet. My favourite part was that it was clear a lot of thought had been put into the "how" of teaching, with foundation rows prepared for us to start on and get a rhythm before doing the tougher work of making our own foundation rows. I'm looking forward to trying another crochet course with Jacqui in the future!

No was a fantastic teacher who taught my 13year old grandaughter to crochet yesterday…she was patient with tilly and taught her from scratch how to crochet a really good teacher. The venue was lovely and the gift package of crochet and wool was of great quality.

Simple enough for kids yet effective and worth the money. Great fine motor skills threading beads and nice to be involved in an activity with others rather than attempting it at home. I'd recommend trying out a class.

It wasn't strictly rainbow making as you were able to choose any colours you liked from the selection of beads available. My 6yo enjoyed taking ownership of his colours of beads.

Teacher Sharon gave a good balance of guiding but also letting children take ownership of their own creation.

The one to one session allowed for me to ask questions and receive clear answers. Very knowledgeable, friendly and encouraging workshop teacher. I got to make 2 different colour combination pours using paints and canvases from our kits. As the canvases take 24-36 hours to dry and I arrived by public transport I opted to collect the from store a couple of days later. However if you travelled by car it would be possible to transport them in a shallow box. I was pleasantly surprised that the kit which I was given to keep was worth as much as the cost of the class. The teacher also took us round store to show us where refill items were.

I recommend this workshop to anyone who would like to try on using cricut machine before committing on purchasing it. Annie, the workshop tutor, was very patient in showing me how to engrave a plastic sheet. The workshop space was well equipped and all the materials were provided. However, the internet connection was not the fastest and slow in uploading my own images into the cricut program. But overall, I enjoyed the workshop and would consider coming back when I have a different project in mind.

She gave clear instructions and identified a couple of bad habits I had got into - such as not keeping the needle down when I needed to readjust my fabric. Would highly recommend this for beginners and the self taught. I will definitely be back for another session on following a pattern or putting in zips

It was an overall good experience. Only learned the chain and double. Had a quick brush on the treble. Thought the workshop could be a bit longer as to accommodate the speed of the learners which were mostly real beginners. We spent nearly 50 minutes only to get people done with a chain of 11 loops. Material provided was nice.

The teacher, Jacqui, was very hands on with us and so patient. She practically held our hands as we learned the different stitches. It's much easier to learn a skill in person, and Jacqui ensured that we placed our hands exactly the correct way in order to crochet successfully, and become more proficient. Having had little practice with crocheting, and even less confidence, I feel that I am on my way to being able to create beautiful stitchery.

This was a beginners crochet lesson, something I had never tried before. It was also my first time in Hobbycraft store.
Our tutor Jacqui was very welcoming and a brilliant teacher, very patient and easy to understand . All the staff in store were very friendly and encouraging . As I had arrived early I had a good look around the store and I was amazed at the quality and quantity of different craft materials.
Jacqui guided us through the initial steps of crochet and helpfully explained when we went wrong.
I now need to practice and I would definitely book again.
I will be recommending to friends and colleagues.

This was a really enjoyable class. I have done a bit of crochet before, but never really got to grips with it. Jacquie is a great teacher, really good fun, very patient and has really helped and inspired me. I bought some wool and now want to see what other classes there are. This is the second class I have done and it is really good fun.
The only negative comment I have to make is about the parking. There is a 2 hour parking limit outside Hobbycraft. By the time you arrive at the class, do the class and get ready to leave, there is virtually no time to look around and buy anything. There were loads of things I wanted - I could have spent loads, but just didn't have the time

Jacqui was absolutely amazing going beyond the call of duty! I booked two hours, one to learn how to use the sewing maching and one to do a 'wrap' as my 7 year old daughter was obsessed with making a 'dress' for her birthday, but I wasn't expecting much in one hour To my suprise, Jacqui started by asking my daughter to draw her ideal dress and from that drawing Jacqui used the two hours to help me make the dress whilst showing me how to use the machine. I can't believe we accomplished so much in two hours and best of all, my daughter's smile and happinnes for having the dress she wanted to wear on her birthday was priceless. Thank you Jacqui, for sure we'll be back!

Really great class with Jacqui this morning. She was so reassuring and totally happy for us to ask the same question over and over again! She created a really friendly atmosphere from the moment we arrived and so we all felt relaxed with each other. The venue is nice and warm - important in the winter - and it's useful to have all the equipment there in the shop either for her to show (like different weights of yarn) or for us to buy (although absolutely NO hard sell which is classy).

We learned to make the initial slipknot, crochet our base chain and then do double and triple crochet.

It was excellent value for money and the length was perfect. Any longer and we would have lost focus more than we already did.

It was great to be told what could be available next, which includes the weekly crochet club.

I loved this workshop.

I learned a lot, not just crocheret skills but also my own shortcomings (my concentration levels are certainly finite I need plenty of time to let things sink in)

Jacqui was a star! Warm and friendly; bags of enthusiasm and empathy and humour; brilliant when it comes to explaining things. And she was so incredibly patient too, especially with a clot like me!

At the end of the workshop, Jacqui kindly took us round the relevant materials section of the store. She offered plenty of hints and tips when making our choices, which I valued greatly.

Brilliant value for money, the best £20 I've spent in a long time. I felt incredibly enthused, and grateful that Jacqui offered us plenty of pointers for future learning: books, online videos and the like.

We booked 2 sessions this week, the one on Monday was the same one as today (keyring trees) the one on Monday should have been tree decorations. My daughter really liked the lady running the session as she had her on Monday too, but was a little disheartened that it was the same session, so found it boring today.

A very enjoyable class and San was a great tutor. I really enjoyed using the water colours to draw the Xmas wreaths on card. San gave us some great tips and ideas, which helped us all to be able to put this into practice. We had some wine, nibbles and mince pies - what's not to like.

I look forward to seeing what other classes San has to offer - I can definitely recommend this class. It was good fun, I felt I had learned something and what we did was achievable in the time

Thank you for the workshop. I had booked the workshop because the circuit maker was something I was considering for my daughters' Christmas. My children were excited to try out the circuit machine and the enjoyed the machine, but the excitement worn out quickly. They told me that they did not feel the machine was for them. Perhaps a little more guidance and have them do more with the machine and/or the software would have had a different outcome. I know that time is always to be an issue when it comes to workshop and trying out new things, so it's easier to skip that part and do a lot on their behalf. Having said that they were quite please with what they managed to achieve. I am glad I booked the workshop before buying the machine blindly.

I just got home from an absolute wonderful Beginner's Guide to Crochet workshop with Jacqui at Hobbycraft Wimbledon. I have tried starting to crochet so many times and failed. But under Jacqui's guidance and very clear instructions, I was able to learn 4 stitches and create my first square. Absolutely fabulous! Thank you Jacqui

Jacqui was a really good teacher. Explained and demonstrated very clearly, was patient with me and willing to repeat information. She was encouraging and fun and I just wish the session had gone on longer!
It would be good if the same group could meet again to move forward with skills.
Good supply of paint and equipment. Room clean and pleasant and we didn’t have to clear up!

The class was brilliant, my Mum and I went for my birthday treat and there was only the two of us so we had a private lesson which was fantastic. Jacqui took time to explain the process and methods and was very skilled and knowledgeable. Her enthusiasm was infectious and it made it a lot of messy fun. It was also great having Cathy there to help. It was so interesting to see how different the results were from using different colours and methods. We both absolutely loved it and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Great value for money too.

Really enjoyed the course. It is quite basic but I would not have done on my own. Teacher was lovely and knowledgeable and venue fine. Parking available but make sure you register your car with the manager so don't get fined for staying over two hours.

What a wonderful morning at HobbyCraft Wimbledon with workshop leader Jacqui! We were given a box with our materials and Jacqui guided us along the way, creating these gorgeous Eucalyptus Gold Hoop Christmas Wreaths. Jacqui's was very friendly, creating and holding space for our small group of 5. She is very knowledgable too, she gave us different tips on how to create our wreaths and options on how to enhance them after we finished. Highly recommmend a workshop with Jacqui and HobbyCraft in general. What a treat they are so close to home now.

Lovely activity that my three year old enjoyed. Left with four ghosts and two bats which my daughter is happily playing with. The teacher was very friendly and helpful in giving ideas on how to create our spooky friends. The change of character half way was great for getting my three year old to pay attention again (as her attention tends to wander around half an hour in)

If you are ever in the need of booking a workshop, (sewing, crochet You name it.) then I urge you to do so at Hobbycraft Wimbledon because you will find yourself in the care of the lovely Jacqui. How do I even begin to explain Jacqui? She's everything good in July, a mix of laughter, unhinged talent and all that sparkle.
I've done many workshops with her, she helped me with a costume that was quite complicated considering the fact that I had never touched a sewing machine before. I thought she would turn me away, that she'd say there was no way for me to do this. Yet, she didn't. She believed in me right from the start because she saw how much I cared for that project. She truly is the best teacher you could ever hope to find, she's patient, funny, absolutely wondrous. I do have a hobbycraft near where I live and yet I chose to go to the one in Wimbledon even though it was an hour away from me simply because she was there. Jacqui was the one who helped me get my first sewing machine ever, a while ago, she's been so lovely the first time that I knew that if I ever needed help for anything, I would come back to her. She was so invested in my project, always a phonecall away if something was wrong, I think I had the best introduction to sewing that one can ever hope to get. Thanks to her, I'm way much more confident with my sewing, something I didn't think it possible considering the fact that I barely started a couple of months ago, but here we are. Not only did I have an amazing teacher, I also got a friend and I'll forever be grateful for that.

We made Halloween spiders- the activity was well prepared and materials were good. We each got to make 3 spiders. Sharon from the Wimbledon branch was so lovely with my 2.5 year old and made us feel very welcome! This was a little too tricky for my 3.5 year old. In future perhaps a couple of simple modifications could be on offer to make it easier / quicker for those of less ability - for example, bigger paint brushes or one or two decorations that might be easier to stick on. But we had a really lovely time! Sharon the teacher was really kind and helpful and supportive and created a lovely atmosphere despite the difference in age of the children attending!

I had a great experience at this class and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in starting crochet. The time flew past and I left feeling confident to practice on my own. I was reassured that I can come into store and ask staff any questions I have in the future. We went though basic and techniques and had the opportunity to look at patterns and learn how to read them. I only have positive feedback, thanks to the team at Hobbycraft Wimbledon!

I really enjoyed this workshop. I hadn't appreciated what brush lettering entailed until taking this class, but it's essentially learning a type of writing using brush pens. :)

Jacqui was a fantastic host - welcoming, experienced & shared loads of great ideas. The Wimbledon store is amazing - one could spend hours there!

The pack received was great with lovely materials included to take home & practise with. The workshop itself is maybe a little short - I'd suggest 90 minutes or 2 hours to fully practise and master the skill of brush lettering.

I haven’t touched a sewing machine in around 40 years and it was so great to have this refresher. I came home and dug out my old machine and knew straight away what was missing. Found the missing bits and found that my machine works. I thought it was broken beyond repair. Very excited and want to crack on and rekindle my desire to sew

The workshop was fantastic! We had a lovely lady Jacqui who was running the paint your canvas workshop and she was amazing! So friendly and engaging with the children the whole time and making them laugh. The equipment needed to carry out the activity at the work shop was all provided and set up ready for when the children arrived. The workshop was very easy to find in the store the children really enjoyed following the arrows on the floor to find the workshop they couldn’t wait to get involved! We will definitely be coming back for some different workshops!

The teacher was patient calm and happy to see me. The teacher was really happy to help, was patient, enthusiastic and welcoming and willing to help me understand the cricut joy. Materials Supplied were the ones that I liked. I was asked what I liked which is kind and helpful. The experience was definitely value for money. I learnt how to use the pen and put the pen into the machine. I learnt how to use the vinyl. I learnt how to use some of the functions like the weld and the slice.

Highly recommend Annie and Hobbycraft for workshops as well as the peaceful atmosphere and environmental.

the course is fantastic and the teacher is really nice and patient, responsbility!
the patterns on bag are really nice and my daughter loves this handmade pattern bag so much! the teacher let her to choose the patterns and she can just print on what she wants . we made one side is her name and another side is her primary school and bus pattern. it's really nice .

Friendly teacher who explained everything well.

Great value for money - we had loads of materials and didn’t feel rushed.

I felt like the kids really learnt new techniques and skills.

Fantastic introductory class. Jacqui is an amazingly motivating, kind and supportive teacher. Suggestions for further learning/support were excellent and I left feeling hopeful that my skills would (eventually) improve to the point of usefulness! The venue was bright, clean and welcoming and I consider the class good value for money. My only suggestion would be for equipment packs to include smaller crochet hooks (or an option to choose sizes) rather than having to purchase separately.

Venue fine except Security hovering about, very distracting teacher had to move him on.
No materials used unfortunately, unable to make anything. Slightly disappointing not to see an end product.

We had a great time making animal paper mache art today at the Wimbledon branch. Sharon was very helpful and good with the children when explaining what to do and checking on them throughout, asking if they needed any help. It was a calm, friendly atmosphere and enjoyed by all.
Everything needed was provided for us. Great value for the activity.

Fun little activity. Teacher was friendly and good with the children (5 in total). Workshop lasted half the stated session time I was expecting, so about 30 mins instead of an hour. Think they could have done more for the £5 fee. They basically did two clay imprints and then made a dinosaur.

We travelled an hour for this, it was over in half an hour and was only given some modelling clay. I’d only recommend this if you live close by and have a young child.

Attended Aryclic painting workshop which was fantastic. Tutor Jackie is excellent, extremely skilled, friendly & very informal . I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop & learnt a great no. of skills, which i will continue to develop at home. It was great value for money with great materials included in a lovely presentation box .Location is great with bus services from Wimbledon. I will be looking at other courses that you offer. Wld love to attend another course with Jackie. I'm so pleased & left feeling very happy & pleased that i'm on my way in learning a new hobby A very relaxing few hours. I wanted to start sewing again after a break of several years and to buy a new sewing machine. The tutor, Jacquie was very helpful, patient and knowledgeable. She showed me how to use my chosen machine and I had the opportunity to practise on my own. The venue was comfortable and quiet and I found the tuition very useful. Highly recommended

Annie was amazing with my 2 daughters. She showed them how to make their coasters step by step and gave them good tips on what to do when they made their own at home. Annie is very knowledgable, helpful and amazing. Will be booking another workshop to cover more things cricut.

Signed up to this after doing the ‘Get to Know Your Sewing Machine’ workshop and I’m so glad I did! I’m a complete sewing beginner and after a quick explanation of my project, the brilliant Jacqui guided me through what I needed to do step by step. We jumped straight into it and by the end of the session, I had a mini version of the first part of my project which absolutely blew me away as I was not expecting to achieve so much in such a short amount of time. Jacqui gave me simple and easy to understand instructions / explanations, guided me through different techniques, showed me the best way to use different tools and gave me plenty of tips and tricks as well. Not only did I learn a lot but it was fun too as Jacqui is absolutely delightful. I now have enough confidence to go away and get started on my project and I will definitely be booking in again as I progress.

This was an absolutely fantastic introduction to my machine. I’m a complete beginner who hadn’t even touched a sewing machine before this workshop and by the end it, I was able to fully set my machine up and was sewing my first stitches. Jacqui was absolutely brilliant, she was extremely informative and patient, answered all my questions in an easy to understand way and made the session a lot of fun too! I will definitely be booking in for the One to One session with her!

And I was glad, at first thought what am I really going to get for £15?
I was so happy Karina was absolutely amazing she answered my question with great knowledge, gave me good advice and when I asked about things I did not pre-note I wanted to do she was able to give good guidance.

Attended the Macrame Workshop today taught by the lovely Annie. I really enjoyed this class and got the hang of it pretty quickly. I found the instructions and demo very helpful and clear. Annie gave pointers for the class and macrame in general which I found very useful. I am already hooked and look forward to repeating today’s wall hanging with various colours and then on to additional projects. I would 100 percent recommend this class as a macramé taster.

We had a warm welcome. Had a few friends (6-7 year olds) do it together and they were a little excited but the teacher was excellent and talked to them. They all came away really happy with their canvas. It looked even better when dry.

Was a nice first time experience with the kids at Hobby craft.
I didn’t feel too welcomed upon
Arrival, no one asked for my name or anything and just told me to sit down. Had to wait to be handed paints and brushes as others were being seen to for much longer than we were and I had two smaller children than the other two parents.
I understand there is only one person and sometimes we have to wait but I felt as though at the beginning we were just left to ourself to do what we want kind of vibe. It wasn’t as interactive as I was hoping. But was a nice experience for me with my kids.

What a lovely workshop I booked this for my 9 year old daughter and she really enjoyed it. The staff were so lovely and helpful and really made us feel welcomed. I was very impressed with the box we received with all the necessary to make our wreath, including a glue gun which made my daughter very happy. We have booked a few other workshops and I'm keen to do a few myself The knitting and crocheting ones, just wish these workshops were available at the weekends. I'm so so happy we have a Hobbycraft in the neighbourhood

The box with materials was very good. It had everything we needed and more. Great value for money.
Would be great to have more evening classes and if we could get special parking passes on the day to stay longer. I had no time to browse the shop. Also would love a longer class.

The lady that I meet was amazing, helpful and very relaxed. She provided the materials where I could show her what I could do. The lady showed me how to prepare the sewing machine, all the stitches I could use, the tension of the stitches, how to do a button hole and how to finish the stitches. I really recommend, it was fun and relaxing. I definitely will go back. Thank you to the lady that made my hour very pleasant.

This is a great workshop for both beginners and improvers. New stitches are learned each week within a supportive group. Jacqui is a fantastic teacher who makes lessons fun and instils confidence. The venue away from the shop floor is good and the materials provided are excellent. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I booked my daughter and her friend onto the canvas painting workshop. I was blown away by the value for money. The canvas was supplied and all paints, brushes and palettes. The table was set up lovely and was a clean and clear space for the children to work. The lovely lady offered lots of hints and tips along the way and the staff at the store were welcoming, chatty and friendly. I’m looking forward to booking onto future courses and very pleased to have this store near us.

Absolutely fantastic class. Our leader (Jacqui) was super friendly and easy going, the children felt very comfortable around her and she was really lovely, so nice to have such a friendly face on a Wednesday morning. The class is perfect for all ages (I enjoyed it just as much as the 3&6 year olds). Would love to have the class in term time too, maybe with it varying each week for different activities. Overall, couldn’t recommend the class enough. Such a reasonable price for a wonderful morning. Thanks!

Myself and my son Really enjoyed the pottery painting. I didn't know what to expect as it was only £2 but it was an absolute bargain. The lady Katherine was lovely very chatty with the children talking about their paintings, school, dinosaurs. She was really interactive even though parents were there to help she still offered help and praise for their paintings. Would really recommend.

But a hook on the wall to hang the macramé as you make it would be really helpful.

This was a really fun class. Annie was brilliant so patient and encouraging and shared her amazing skill. I felt I could now tackle a project on my own. The kit we were given was very generous and I appreciated the minimal use of plastic. The new store with it's classroom is a wonderful space. I will be back

Welcomed with refreshments and a sealed box containing my crochet kit. A well presented room with comfortable seating. The tutor went at a slow pace, returning to each of us (4) regularly. We all did feel that it would have increased our ability if we'd had a little longer, however I believe we were all satisfied. I was happy to come away with a 1 inch starter of a piece of bunting but also with lots of advice. We did suggest that the craft kits could be presented without the packaging to help the environment. Very helpful and approachable staff. All around 5 out of 5 and I will try another course in the future.

Just attended a Beginners Crochet class at the fabulous new Hobbycraft in Tooting. The teacher, Jacqui, was superb: clear, helpful and very patient!
The kit was great too: five different balls of wool, a crochet needle, a darning needle, instruction card/pattern, all in a lovely cotton bag.
Would thoroughly recommend.

She was very knowledgeable. She is so calm to answer all my questions to a novice like me. She encourages me to use my circuit which I will be doing with so much information she has given me. I will be doing more sessions with her which I am looking forward to. Thank you.
