Furniture Upcycling Workshop

Join this beginner furniture painting and upcycling workshop in London and learn how to breathe new life into tired furniture using proper preparation and painting techniques.This session focuses on the core skills you need to feel confident upcycling furniture: preparing, sanding, cleaning and painting a chair or small piece, all guided step by step in a relaxed, supportive setting with plenty of room to practise and ask questions.You'll work on a practice piece provided for the day, so you're free to focus entirely on learning the process rather than worrying about how the final result turns out. It's ideal if you're completely new to upcycling, or simply want to build your confidence before taking on a project of your own at home.This workshop also forms the first half of the full-day "Upcycle Your Own Chair" experience – if you fancy carrying on into upholstery and finishing a whole piece in a single day, you can book the combined workshop instead.Whether you're a beginner, a keen DIYer, or just curious about sustainable living, you'll come away with hands-on skills you can put to use on your own furniture straight away – proof that a tired piece is often better restored than replaced.Here's what to expect:

• Beginner-friendly, with no experience required
• All tools and materials provided – just bring yourself, and clothes you don't mind getting messy
• Small groups, with plenty of one-to-one guidance
• A sustainable, feel-good day out, learning how to save furniture from landfill
• Take-home skills you'll keep using long after the workshop ends

You'll be introduced to the key stages of furniture upcycling – including how to properly prepare a surface, sand it to a smooth finish, and apply paint for a clean, durable result – with individual support on hand throughout.By the end, you'll have a completely different feel for what's possible with a little sanding, prep and paint – and you might be surprised by just how much you can transform in one session.Please note:

• This workshop is for over-18s only
• You'll need closed shoes and old clothes you don't mind getting dusty, dirty or stained – PPE is provided
• The day involves some sanding and lifting; let us know before booking if you may need any adjustments, and we'll do our best to accommodate you
