What you'll do
If you're looking for a new knitting project to get into over the Christmas break, come along to this class in Strand and learn to knit a Nordic snowflake pattern using Fair Isle knitting. Fair Isle knitting is a knitting technique used to create pictures or images within your work using different colours (this is also known as “stranded colour work knitting”). In this workshop you will learn two-colour fair isle and how to knit a traditional snowflake design as you make a cute little sachet. Fill with some lavender for a lovely fragranced item or just hang it somewhere in your home for a Nordic touch. The Nordic snowflake is a very popular design to knit in fair isle and is ideal for the spirit of the season. You'll enjoy step-by-step tuition from your talented teacher, who'll show you the fundamentals of the technique, as well as how to read patterns so you can continue in future projects.
