Enamel Jewellery Making Class

Make your own jewellery with the ancient techniques of vitreous enamel.

6.5 hours Class size 1 to 4     label £130 - £150 (£150 per guest when you book for 1+ guests, £130 for 4 guests)

Learn to make your own fabulous accessories at this jewellery making workshop. Guided by an expert tutor, you'll be shown how to create a ring and pendant with a pop of colour.

You will choose from organic shapes that have been water cast with molten silver. Water casting results in unique shapes, giving you the chance to choose something just right for you! From the water cast shapes you choose, you'll be able to make your own ring and pendant. You'll learn the process of sawing, forming, soldering and filing as you create your jewellery. You'll be given as much support as you need as you work through the creative process.

You can then choose from a variety of colours and prepare your jewellery for enamel. This is not one of the modern cold paint colouring systems - you will be using the ancient technique of vitreous enamelling and once fired you can watch your colours emerge into a glossy finish - something pretty exciting to see!

After a final polish, your jewellery will be ready to wear as you leave your workshop. You'll head home with your beautiful handmade jewellery and a host of new knowledge and skills in jewellery making.

I have been making jewellery since a young age. Even before studying at Birmingham School of Jewellery, I was stringing homemade clay beads together. It is only in more recent years that I have taken the plunge to start my own business.

From an early age, I have enjoyed learning about folklore and myths and been entertained by the imagination of those creative artists such as Tolkein, CS Lewis and Lewis Carroll - to name the more well known.

I have always believed that perception forms a person's reality and it is lovely to look at the world in different ways.

In 2019 I moved to Wales and through my workshop window, I enjoy watching the wonder of nature through the changing seasons.

So nature, both real and imagined, influences my designs. Not always in my imagined worlds, I am passionate about protecting our environment. This informs my personal choices but also those for my business - I always choose either fair trade or recycled precious metal to work with, as well as ethically sourced gemstones. My packaging is made from recycled products and the boxes are bio-degradable.
