What you'll do
Learn how to make beautiful jewellery in this introduction to silver clay jewellery master class. This workshop is ideal for beginners, and you'll get the chance to experiment with the clay and learn how to create nature-inspired jewellery plus you'll have the opportunity to add pretty embellishments and cubic zirconia gem stones.Silver clay is a magical material made from a non-toxic organic binder and recycled fine silver. Shape it easily using tools, textures and natural materials like twigs, leaves or shells. When the clay is fired, the binder burns away, leaving you with stunning solid silver jewellery. Guided by jewellery designer Rebecca Lucy, this is your chance to escape from the outside world and get creative!During the morning you'll create your first piece of jewellery which will be fired in our kiln during the lunch break. After lunch you'll create your second project which you'll learn how to fire by hand with a blow torch, as well as polishing and finishing.What you'll learn:
- An introduction to silver clay and its properties
- Making moulds from natural objects like twigs, leaves and shells
- Adding pattern and texture
- Making shapes using cutters
- How to fire and finish your magical creation using both a kiln and a kitchen torch
