What you'll do
Develop your creative skills and bring your own designs to life on this six-week silversmithing and jewellery making course.This engaging workshop is suitable for all abilities, giving you the time and space to work on personal projects at your own pace. Your expert tutor, Lorna, will be on hand throughout the activity to teach you new skills on request, provide dedicated support, and help you problem-solve any creative challenges. You will learn how to select your materials from the studio stock and get truly creative.You can work with copper or brass free of charge, which is a great way to practise new techniques. If you wish to create silver pieces, the metal is available to purchase and is charged separately by weight.By the end of the six weeks, you will have produced a wonderful body of work, leaving with a newfound creative confidence and a collection of beautiful, self-designed jewellery.

Silver & Steel is an award winning, one of a kind jewellery workshop and gallery space in the heart of Bristol. This is a contemporary Jewellery Gallery and Workshop space with a twist. Set up by local jeweller Bethany May Silver, Silver & Steel aims to make the jewellery industry more accessible and tackle fast fashion culture in jewellery buying habits. We have created a custom built space for jewellery making and are using it to platform local independent designers, introduce people to the craft and create a space for local makers to work and learn together.Silver & Steel values community, accessibility and sustainability. We use 100% recycled silver in all of our workshops (gold available on request). We feel that coming together to learn, shop and invest in the craft is good for the future and we love to connect people with quality design that is light on the earth. Jewellery making is an empowering experience and we are passionate about sharing that with people. Our workshops are taught by experienced professional jewellers with a collective teaching experience of over 30 years. We are rated 5* on google and have the best reviews in Bristol!
