Learn to embroider in this fun workshop for beginners in London. You'll learn how to do embroidery with support from your talented teacher and you'll create your own gorgeous piece of stitched art within an embroidery hoop to hang in your home.
Embroidery has come a long way since Jane Austen’s heroines sewed in the drawing-room – your awesome teacher from London's popular Tea and Crafting brings this mindful pastime bang up to date with a modern take on traditional embroidery styles.
Working with other embroidery newbies, you'll learn some popular stitches including back stitch, satin stitch, straight stitch and the French knot. You’ll be able to choose a fun design (or a drawing of your own) to embroider yourself using your newfound skills.
Your embroidered design will stay in the hoop you use to keep your fabric tight, and you can hang it on your wall or display it on a shelf along with your favourite houseplants, candles and crafts. By the end of your class you'll know all the basic embroidery techniques you need to continue this therapeutic craft at home.
Once you’ve mastered embroidery as a skill, you can try your hand at embellishing your napkins, sheets, pillowcases - in fact, there won’t be a soft furnishing in your home left unadorned!

Hey, I’m Jane, and I’m obsessed with all things crafty! If it involves glue, yarn, paint, or paper—chances are, I’ve tried it. I started Tea and Crafting back in 2009 as a cosy, welcoming workshop space in Covent Garden because I wanted to share my love of crafting with everyone.
I totally get that life is busy, so I made it my mission to offer fun, relaxed, and totally doable craft workshops—no six-week commitment required! Just pop in, get creative, and walk away with something amazing (even if you think you're “not crafty”).
Fast forward 12 years, and I’m still here, sharing the magic of making alongside a fantastic team of expert crafters. Because honestly? Crafting isn’t just about being good at it—it’s about the joy, the creativity, and that unbeatable feel-good factor. So, come craft with us! ️
