What you'll do

Journey into the world of hand embroidery design and make some stunning art using fabric, needles and thread.

This online class is perfect for beginners looking to learn basic embroidery techniques and those looking to broaden their embroidery knowledge. Your talented teacher will introduce you to the wonderful textile technique of hand embroidery, and how it can be used to make some colourful DIY home decor that you can proudly display on your wall.

You will cover ten different stitches, explore different texture and experiment with colour, yarn and patterns. Put all your new knowledge to the test by making some abstract textile designs that look stunning.

A craft kit with all your supplies will be sent right to your door. It's an easy way to complete this DIY project and is sure to get you excited about doing more in the future.

We will be working on a wooden embroidery hoop (which you will get to keep) so that you can proudly hang your magnificent masterpiece once you’ve finished.

If you don't finish during the online class, no worries! We will provide you with a recording so you can refer back to it when you're ready.

Restoration London is an independent organisation that is passionate about sustainability within the clothing industry. Their focus is to reuse, recycle and upcycle existing garments and to share this skill with others so they can repair their most loved and most worn clothes.

They hold workshops around London and Thanet area, to encourage students to mend their clothes. They use all sorts of textile methods to fix, deconstruct, customise and revive clothes that you might otherwise throw into a landfill. They want to inspire people to learn a new and invaluable skill, to reconnect with textile techniques, and to use their creativity to minimise their impact on the environment.

They offer workshops for special events such as hen parties and team building events. Their in-person classes come with free tea, coffee and cake— as if learning a new skill didn't entice you enough!
