Join our fun and creative 6-week Cricut course designed especially for complete beginners! Whether you’ve just bought your Cricut machine or have been too nervous to take it out of the box, this course will guide you step-by-step through the essentials of Cricut crafting in a relaxed and supportive environment. You’ll learn how to use Design Space, work with different materials, and create a variety of beautiful handmade projects while building confidence with your machine each week.

Throughout the course, you’ll explore a range of popular Cricut techniques and projects. In Week 1, you’ll create a stunning giant 3D cardstock rose, perfect for home décor or special occasions. Week 2 introduces heat transfer vinyl as you design and personalise a stylish zipper pouch with an iron-on design. In Week 3, you’ll work with acrylic to create a personalised sign along with a gift box, learning valuable cutting and assembly skills along the way.

As your confidence grows, Week 4 will focus on creating a beautiful layered shadow box frame, teaching you techniques for depth, layering, and intricate cutting. In Week 5, you’ll discover the art of card making, producing custom greeting cards for birthdays, celebrations, and special occasions. Finally, in Week 6, you’ll finish the course by designing and assembling your own custom cake topper — the perfect project to showcase your new Cricut skills.

By the end of the 6 weeks, you’ll have completed a collection of handmade projects, gained practical experience using a variety of Cricut materials and tools, and developed the confidence to continue crafting independently at home. This course is perfect for beginners who want to learn new skills, meet fellow crafters, and enjoy a creative and inspiring atmosphere.

You’ll be sent a follow-up video which will be live for 12 months afterwards to guide you in your own time.

Keeping everyone safe

  • 5/5 from Evelyn Mallett, attended Aug 2026: It was really helpful and I can now create a lot more things than before
  • 5/5 from Theresa Lee, attended Aug 2026: This was very informative moved at a good pace and all questions were answered well. I look forward to the rest of the course. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Yvonne, attended Aug 2026: Really enjoyed spending the time learning how to use my cricut maker for the different projects. Irene and Chrissie were really patient and took the time to help every participant when they needed it and the videos sent through after are really helpful memory joggers. Loved learning how to use the iron on vinyl to create the bag, the vinyl for the acrylic sign and creating the shadow box the best. Unfortunately I am unable to make the last session out of the six but I know I will be able to complete it using the video sent after the class. Many thanks for all of your help and I will certainly trying making more now I have the confidence.
  • 4/5 from Urvi, attended Aug 2026: The course was brilliant for a beginner - I learned a lot of techniques (particularly within design space) that were really useful! The trainers/teachers on the course were both friendly, knowledgeable and able to help with any queries on the spot which was great! If you're looking to get a general understanding of your machine and design space, this course is definitely a good choice. My only call out is that they should potentially split the course out based on what type of Cricut machine you have - there was a lot of time spent trying to get the correct sizing for the smaller machines etc, it's already quite difficult to keep a large group on the same page when it's a virtual course with varying capabilities, different machines was an extra factor to consider which at times, slowed the whole class down.
  • 5/5 from Nikki Chapman, attended Jul 2026: A fantastic course that helped me build my confidence using my Cricut machine. Lots of different projects explained clearly as well as how to apply those skills to other project. Irene was a brilliant teacher; patient, supportive and good natured with everyone.
  • 5/5 from Aminat Hamzat, attended Jul 2026: Irene was so helpful all through the course I am more confident using my machine now
  • 5/5 from Sarah Cullen, attended Jul 2026: Irene was absolutely amazing and patient, it was a really great 6 weeks learning loads and confidence. Will definitely be booking more sessions to grow more. Thank you Irene for helping me get on the path to the world of cricut!
  • 5/5 from Helen Earl, attended Jul 2026: Great introduction to the capabilities and inspiration that Cricut can deliver. I would recommend this course
  • 4/5 from Rachel Arkins, attended Jul 2026: Really enjoyed this class and has definitely helped with getting to grips with Design Space. Could not make any of the items as am stuck in a chair recovering from an operation but made all the projects in design space and that was what I was having problems with. Cant wait to actually make them!
  • 4/5 from Dee Penney, attended Jul 2026: For an absolute novice to Cricut with a new machine (Cricut joy extra) that wasn’t working properly, it was a bit of a challenge and a little bit fast. However, Chrissy was brilliant, extremely knowledgeable-and able to point me in the right direction. Follow-up videos or an excellent idea. I have only watched two so far and they don’t quite cover the projects as we did, but they will be extremely helpful for me to catch up.
  • 5/5 from Samantha Rawlings, attended May 2026: Irene was such a fab teacher, the 6 week course taught me so much with my Cricut machine and I now feel so much more confident in the projects I do. Cannot recommend enough!
  • 5/5 from Lynda Anderson, attended May 2026: Cricut six week zoom course I was nervous about a zoom learning experience; However Irene was a great (patient) teacher and very knowledgable. I looked forward to the session each week and enjoyed seeing everyone's makes too. I loved the package which arrived in time for the start of the course, including lots of goodies to make during the session. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Angela Latham, attended May 2026: Fantastic course, I’ve learned so much from both Christie and Irene and have some lovely creations. I’ve learnt so much about how design space works and feel confident now, when I need to make something.
  • 5/5 from Val Alder, attended May 2026: Irene was absolutely fantastic, she was so so helpful, informative and was excellent with her knowledge of the Cricut and its capabilities - as as Tutor she was first class, she was interesting and interested in us and how we were progressing. She had an amazing ability to really reach each and every one of us, nothing was a problem and you were never made to feel like a novice, she understood our needs and not once did you feel rushed or a nuisance if you asked again for the task to be shown to you. Even her voice was pleasant and I could have listened to her for hours - I really not a person who allows myself ‘time out’ and the thought of a course for 1 hour 30 mins for 6 weeks consecutive Sundays was not something I thought I would look forward to as it was bought as a gift but I loved every single minute of it and learnt sooooo much. It gave me so much confidence on the machine and that was solely down to Irene. Thank you very much - I certainly will not hesitate to email her for a private lesson from time to time. Excellent value for money.
  • 5/5 from Tracy Adams, attended May 2026: This was such a good class from week 1 the teacher was amazing slowed things down so we could keep up. From doing this course I am now so much more confident in making things I would highly recommend this course to anyone who owns a Cricut
  • 5/5 from Beverley Lyons, attended Apr 2026: Excellent course, loved how much I learnt and having the recordings afterwards was a great help. Irene and Chrissie were extremely good, friendly and helpful throughout. I would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Julie Swash, attended Apr 2026: I loved the Cricut Handmade 6‑Week Course. Each week brought a new skill, fun projects, and really clear video guides. The craft kit was beautiful and great quality — even the little touches like fruity tea made it feel special. Chrissie and Irene were so friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, and made the whole course a joy. Fantastic value for money, and I’d happily do it again. A big thank you to them both.
  • 5/5 from Claire Findell, attended Apr 2026: I just loved this course - so much that I’m going to do it again when they have finished with the update. Every week was designed to build up your knowledge and skill. Having all the materials to hand was a really nice touch and meant you could just turn up and know you had everything you needed. Highly recommend
  • 5/5 from Samantha Matthew, attended Apr 2026: Great! I enjoyed the programme and learnt a lot. The tutors were well informed and knowledgeable. I would be interested in doing another intermediate course to extend my skills.
  • 5/5 from Abi, attended Mar 2026: If you are looking to think of some crafts to do on your cricut machine this is for you. A set of well paced classes with tools and material included and useful and well Paced instructions.
  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Mar 2026: The technology access is not very clear. It is the same log in every week. NOT everyone is tech savvy- please keep that in mind. I missed the second session completely as I didn’t know how to log in
  • 5/5 from Debra Lloyd-Bangay, attended Jan 2026: Very friendly online class that covered all aspects of how to to different projects and how to use design space. We could also ask questions along the way and go back if we missed anything. After each class you are emailed the same lesson so that you can refer back to it at any time. Everything in the box covered each lesson. Would do again if a step up course became available.
  • 5/5 from Karen Simms, attended Jan 2026: Both workshop leaders were brilliant and have learnt so much and have enjoyed every minute. Thank you so much.

  • 5/5 from Deborah Cunliffe, attended Jan 2026: Wonderful tutors. I learnt so much in 6 weeks and I do things now I never thought I’d do. The tutorials were brilliant for a recap and to make things later. Having all the equipment arrive so to hand was a really good idea also.
  • 5/5 from Julie Meadows, attended Jan 2026: This was extremely good and I enjoyed the classes Chrissie is a really good teacher for me and I could understand what she was explaining I learnt a lot. Thank you

  • 5/5 from Sharon Williams, attended Jan 2026: Best course ever!! Learnt so much in a short piece of time. Trainers were patient, helpful and supportive. When is part two coming out I would love to take part.
  • 5/5 from Karla Salvatorelli, attended Jan 2026: I recently completed a 6 week Cricut class with Chrissie and Hannah and it was such a lovely experience. They were both incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to take the time to explain things clearly, no matter how many questions we had. The projects we created were beautiful, and it was great to work with the materials provided in the box. I genuinely looked forward to each session. I only wish there was a continuation workshop because I’d sign up in a heartbeat!
  • 5/5 from Lyn Johnson, attended Dec 2025: Probably 4th or 5th course with Chrissie - she is excellent at explaining things - a good teacher - patient and knowledgeable. Look forward to booking another 'one to one' to go over other aspects of my Cricut machine. Thanks Chrissie
  • 5/5 from Anna Morrow, attended Dec 2025: Excellent course made so by the fantastic teacher in Chrissie. Can highly recommend as a good starter course to introduce some of the potential of Cricut. Chrissie is patient and adaptable in her approach. She is very personable and can breakdown processes into simple easy to follow steps. We just need the next steps course to build on the knowledge gained, I do hope Hobbycraft will look at generating such a course please!
  • 5/5 from Angi Gallagher, attended Dec 2025: Course was brilliant, instructor was very knowledgeable. Would love to see anvadvanced course in future to build on what we have already done.
  • 5/5 from Meng Li Wong, attended Oct 2025: Love Chrissie and her teaching. Very patient and knowledgeable and willing to guide and teach students.
  • 5/5 from Andrea Jones, attended Oct 2025: I learnt so many new skills and how to use my Maker. Chrissie was brilliant, such a lovely lady and so much knowledge on Cricut.
  • 5/5 from Melanie Taylor, attended Sep 2025: Chrissi was very patient. Good all round course to get you started. I didn't have a clue before the course now I'm looking forward to making things I hadn't considered before.
  • 5/5 from Elaine Wright, attended Aug 2025: The 6 week Cricut course was great for me as a new Maker 4 owner. Chrissie and Irene thoroughly explained each step of the weeks project, making it easy to follow along. I learnt new skills and had fun too! Thank you so much.
  • 5/5 from Susan Darby, attended Jul 2025: I found the course really informative and had given me the confidence to enjoy my cricut machine. The videos are also good as it’s difficult to absorb everything during the zoom class
  • 5/5 from Lorraine Peto, attended Jun 2025: Fantastic class and Chrissie was brilliant The only issue I had was everyone had different software ie Laptop, desktop, iPad and iPhone, which does delay the class a bit. Maybe do separate class with Laptop only, iPad only which makes it easier for everyone. When teaching we should all do the same thing rather what we all like to have as can do this later on. But great class to do, well recommended.
  • 5/5 from Julia, attended Jun 2025: Such a useful and fun class. So many useful hints and tips from the host. Highly recommend to those starting out. I've learnt so much and am now more confident to just have a go! Tip for old school people like me who want to write everything down as you go - DON'T! You get a recording of the session, use the time on the course just to make that week's project(s). I also found it helpful to have two screens, one for the zoom call to see what Chrissie was doing and the second for my canvas to try it out.
  • 5/5 from Gayle Ogilvie, attended Jun 2025: Thank you to Chrissy for sharing her knowledge and experience with us. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and the quality of the materials provided were excellent
  • 5/5 from Jennifer Dewar, attended Jun 2025: Lots of info, tips and tricks, you get to learn by doing and discussing any issues
  • 5/5 from Wendy Griffin, attended Jun 2025: It was a really good course for Cricut beginners. Chrissie was absolutely brilliant and so patient. I would recommend it for anyone that has just bought a Cricut machine.
  • 5/5 from Paula Lawrenson, attended May 2025: Really gave me confidence in using my Cricut machine
  • 5/5 from Sharon Small, attended Apr 2025: I thoroughly enjoyed each week of the course. The course supplies were carefully thought out and were of such good quality. Chrissie, the course instructor, was fantastic! She was friendly and knowledgeable and you could really tell that she had a lot of experience with her Cricut. There were lots of extra tips and tricks that she added while we worked. I only wish the course was longer and maybe included multi-colour/layer vinyl designs in iron-on and permanent vinyl. The course did mention that a requirement was the Cricut Easypress so I went and bought one, but an iron could have been used (even though the Easypress does a better job) - perhaps say Easypress or iron in the requirements. I wish there was in intermediate course. While I learnt a lot, I feel there is scope to go deeper into the skills.
  • 5/5 from Kai, attended Mar 2025: Fantastic 6 weeks with both tutors. We learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The tutors were both very knowledgeable and eager to share Cricut skills with us! Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Sheena Pritchard, attended Mar 2025: Really enjoyed the course, lovely to see the same people and make a connection. Learned a lot about my cricut machine, hints and tips that you might never find out or that would take a lot of time to find yourself.
  • 5/5 from Tara Vaughan, attended Feb 2025: Great course with Joey. Learnt so much about Cricut, especially enjoyed learning the iron on method- was very easy to use gift card for this course. Already looking at booking another.
  • 5/5 from Dawn Adams, attended Feb 2025: Great selection of projects to make and good quality supplies provided in the box. Really liked the format of the more detailed 'on the day' session explaining all the extra insights/tips. Followed up with the link for the recoded, faster session. Really flexible format with the ability to decide to make-a-long, or watch-a-long and craft later. Really enjoyed tailoring the projects and will do some of them again with my niece. Recommend as great to get to know Design Space much faster.
  • 5/5 from Charlotte, attended Feb 2025: Joey was very friendly, explained everything well and made me feel more confident in trying new things. The course has so many useful tips, making full use of the features of design space, and inspiration for making things that I wouldn’t have thought of doing. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Jackie Gladwell, attended Feb 2025: Had a lovely time learning new projects. Teacher was vey good at explaining every step. Great idea that a video was sent after class of the projects made.
