What you'll do

Need to brush up on your hosting skills? This two-week cookery course in Wandsworth will tick all your boxes! Whether you're looking to start a career involving cooking — be it for families as a nanny or as a host in a lodge or company villa — or simply wanting to up your dinner party game, this course will give you the skills you need to make everything run smoothly.

The course covers all aspects of hosting, including cooking skills, budgeting, shopping, menu planning and cleaning. With The Avenue's decades of experience in both the hosting and cooking industries, you can be assured that you'll come away from the course full of knowledge from people who really know their stuff, leaving you brimming with newfound confidence.

Each day will begin with a demonstration of the morning’s menu, which will include your delicious lunch. Then it'll be your turn to get hands-on, cooking for the rest of the morning before sitting and enjoying the lunch you made — a well-deserved treat!

After lunch you will have an afternoon demonstration followed by more hands-on cooking — after all, what better way to learn than to get your hands dirty? While each day shares the same structure, you'll be preparing a different set of dishes requiring specialised techniques. Taken together, you'll have a deeper understanding of cooking, really letting you give your guests' meals that 'wow' factor.

At the end of the course, you will be awarded an acknowledged Avenue Chef / Host Cooking Course Certificate, marking the start of your journey to exciting times ahead.

Course Timings
Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm (lunch included)
Friday 10am – 4pm (breakfast and lunch included)

Please note:

The course runs over two consecutive weeks, Monday to Friday. If you can't attend both weeks, please get in touch with us before booking, and we can advise on your options.
One agreed evening during the course will cover hosting skills.
Vegetarian, low-fat and gluten-free dietary requirements can be catered for on request, but time restraints mean meal alternatives will not be covered in the demonstrations.
