What you'll do

In this uplifting and informative workshop, you will learn how to mend clothes like a pro, with a focus on three essential types of mending. No prior experience is necessary – this class is perfect for beginners who want to learn a valuable skill and breathe new life into their well-loved garments.

During the workshop, you will discover the art of hem fix, seam repair, and button sewing. Seam repair will help you achieve strong and invisible mends, ensuring your beloved clothes last for years to come. Hem fix will help you adjust the length of your garment or fix the half-open hem held by safety pins. Sewing the button which doesn't fall off, and you will learn the different techniques used based on the garment/fabric.

You'll be provided with all the materials you need, and our friendly instructor will guide you step-by-step through the process. You may feel a sense of accomplishment as you witness the transformation of your clothes right before your eyes.

At the end of the workshop, you'll be able to take home your mended garments, proudly showcasing your newfound skills. It's time to put your creativity and resourcefulness to work. What to bring

The garments you need mending (recommended, but optional):

A top or a shirt if it has a button missing
A pair of trousers or skirt with the hem ripped
A shirt or blouse or jacket (indoors or outdoors) where the armhole or side seam has ripped open

If you don't have a garment to mend, don't worry. You can practise the techniques on samplers we provide.

Notepad and pen, if you want to take notes.
