Join the best dumpling party of the year to celebrate Chinese New Year. You can learn about a different culture through the joy of cooking! Meet new friends who share an interest in food and learn the art of dumpling making in this London class.
Making dumplings is a communal family effort. The nature of cooking together prompts interesting conversation and shared storytelling, and more than a little laughter. This makes a dumpling party the perfect way to gather your friends for a fun group activity. A plate of steamed dumplings and sparkling social time is just what you need during the darker months!
Every culture around the world has a form of dumpling. They all come in different sizes and shapes and represent different symbolic meanings. In this cooking class, you will learn the role dumplings play in Chinese culture, especially during Chinese New Year. You will also learn about their importance in a family reunion and how they signify prosperity due to the dumpling's resemblance to ancient Chinese money.
You will learn how to make dumplings, customize your own fillings, and how to fold them in different styles.
A local, passionate teacher will share plenty of tips and tricks, get everyone involved in some fun games, and explain how integral dumplings are to Chinese food culture. Best of all, you get to socialize with everyone and meet new friends who are also curious about a different culture!
