This short day course is designed for beginners curious about exploring creative techniques that bridge the digital and handmade worlds & a taster-style session featuring a number of photographic techniques and alternative surfaces to print on.
You’ll learn how to create digital negatives from your own photographs and transform them into tangible prints & objects using the Cyanotype or Van Dyke process. We’ll also experiment with Polaroid Lift, transferring images onto unusual surfaces - you will be able to choose from wood, fabric, or glass. Over an immersive day, you’ll craft unique, personal artworks while gaining insight into craft-based photographic methods.
This course is limited to 6 participants for a personal and hands-on experience.

Introduction to Alternative Photography Processes
Overview of Cyanotype, Van Dyke, and Polaroid Lift techniques.
Creating Digital Negatives
Step-by-step guidance to prepare negatives from existing digital images.
Printing with Light and Chemistry
Explore Cyanotype and Van Dyke processes to create unique handmade prints.

Learn to apply your photographs onto unconventional surfaces like fabric, glass, or wood.
