Discover the beauty of natural colour using different parts of plants including flowers, leaves and roots as well as food waste and add botanical colours to a handmade bamboo silk scarf in this relaxing and environmentally engaged workshop.
This is a fun, simple and sustainable way to transfer pigments to textiles using botanical colours including food and garden waste. This workshop is ideal for those who are interested in natural dyeing but do not know where to start, and has been specially designed for you to make a present for yourself or a special one ;)
We will create surprising prints and patterns on beautiful bamboo silk scarves and learn about plant pigments. The nature of this technique makes the outcome quite hard to predict, however you could aim for a blurry and colourful repetitive pattern, or a more abstract colour field. However the outcome, it’s going to be beautiful.
  • Experience creative wellbeing through hands-on making and sensory engagement with natural materials
  • Strengthen collaboration and connection through shared creative exploration
  • Develop awareness of sustainable materials and textile reuse

  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Feb 2026: I organised this workshop with Renata Minoldo as a half term treat for my daughter, her 2 girls aged 7 and 4 and a close friend with her kids aged 12 and 10. We had beautiful pieces of bamboo silk on which to be creative with all the amazing natural materials Renata had prepared. She was a great teacher, fun and dynamic with the kids and explained everything so well. The kids loved it and so did the adults equally! It really is a wonderful experience to use things in nature to create colour and patterns….
  • 5/5 from Mati, attended Jan 2026: I couldnt have imagined that this experience would have been so lovely! The whole workshop, from a beginning to an end was perfect. Lovely working with natural flowers, onion skins and wood chips on silk, we created the coolest patterns and Renata was great at guiding us gently while also giving us some great tips for pattern design and botanical dyeing. Thanks so much, Renata, can't wait to do more classes with you!
  • 5/5 from Rebecca, attended Oct 2025: This is my second botanical dyeing workshop with Renata and it was so great and fun! We went through all the processes on how to prep and mordant the fibers and then played around with flowers and other plant pigments to create really lovely unique compositions. I’d highly reccommend a workshop with her, she knows what’s shes doing and how to share that with others. Thank you so much! X
  • 5/5 from Roy, attended Oct 2025: Renata is an incredibly patient and knowledgeable teacher, whose care and creativity spills out of her. I already knew some natural dyeing so wanted to deepen my understanding and Renata took this on board, guiding me towards materials and processes less familiar, and I came out with more questions that will lead me in my own work. I enjoyed the unveiling so much, a collective experience that always brings surprises. You must take a workshop!
  • 5/5 from Magdalena, attended Oct 2025: I had the best time at the Natural Dyeing Workshop! Renata was such a joy, so kind and generous with her knowledge. The whole experience felt super wholesome and grounding. Would definitely recommend it to anyone curious about natural dyeing!
  • 5/5 from Daniel Whitelock, attended Jan 2024: We really learnt a lot from the teacher, and had so much fun learning about the different techniques and plants that can be used. Amazing takeaway with such a beautiful scarf at the end - we can't wait to do more! Thank you so much!

I'm a visual artist and arts educator working with natural colour, textiles, clay, seeds, and flowers I gather myself. Since 2018, I've been designing and leading sustainable, hands-on workshops and mindful sessions for all kinds of groups: corporate teams looking for something genuinely different and engaging, hen parties wanting a fun creative afternoon, and people who just love making things and learning about plant dyes and fibres.
My sessions are grounded in mental health and well-being. I create spaces for play, fun and connection, where there's no right or wrong, just the pleasure of making something with your hands that you can take home at the end of the workshop.
Based in Wapping, I'm also happy to travel to your venue. Available for private bookings, team-building events, hen dos, and more.
