Floral Paper Marbling (ebru) Workshop

Magnificence of creating flowers on the water by creating tulip, Battal (Abstract/stone) and floral patterns.

75 mins Class size 1 to 5 guests

  £50 - £84 (£50 for Public Class; £65 for Private Class; £84 for 1,5 private class)

The class will begin with an introduction to sprinkling the paint for the background on the solution and using a biz (needle) to drop the paint. Then, you will learn how to shape the drops into various floral patterns, such as Hatip Ebru, Battal Ebru (Stone Abstract), and Tulip Flower.
Ebru Art is dated back to 13rd centuries where you can see the rare examples in 700 years old manuscripts. Each artwork is unique and can never be copied or done twice.
This workshops aims to follow a traditional technique, where your own hands are tracing the pattern and rhythm that have been followed by centuries of makers. It is a great example to ensure that these skills are handed down, but for our own mindset. It will truly still your mind and give you a sense of wellbeing, continuity and calmness.
If you have attended this workshop, please message us so that we can work on different flowers -
Throughout the workshop, you will create at least three unique artworks. These pieces can be proudly displayed in your own space or gifted to your loved ones as beautiful presents.
To ensure that each participant has the opportunity to get the most out of the workshop, the number of participants is limited to 5. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Please note:
  • You do not have to bring any materials.
  • We will provide an apron.
  • You will roll your artwork to carry with you. We recommend you have a suitable place to put them like a bag.

  • 5/5 from Ehryn Torrell, attended May 2026: Lovely instructor- the right mix of historical context and hands-on making. Learned a lot and felt free to experiment effectively!
  • 4/5 from Doreen Merkel, attended Jan 2026: Teacher gave good instructions. We produced three pieces in the 90 minutes. But because she uses traditional Turkish products it wasn’t possible to continue to work at home using commercially available materials that she could recommend.
  • 5/5 from Molly, attended Apr 2024: This was such a fun activity. Our teacher was brilliant and so kind. We learned a lot and the materials were high quality. I love the art I made!

  • 5/5 from Caterina Carola, attended Jan 2024: I joined the class with a friend and we had a lovely time, the teacher was so patient and was able to guide us both through the sequence of steps, as we were essentially drawing on water! It was really interesting to see how it's done, the tools and materials are all traditional and it was good to learn from an expert in the art. The studio was warm, quiet and cozy, we had time to do three sets of designs but of course would have loved to do even more!
  • 5/5 from Nour Eldib, attended Nov 2023: The teacher was great - She is enthusiastic about the art she is teaching, and clearly aims to create a fun experience, not just deliver workshops. Highly recommended for those who need an escape from corporate life! Already recommended the class to several of my friends!
  • 5/5 from Omer, attended Nov 2023: The instructor was so nice. Great experience. It was like a therapy. I definitely recommend it!
