This unique Ikebana workshop brings together two complementary art forms: ceramics and Japanese flower arranging. Participants are invited to create an Ikebana arrangement in a ceramic container they have made or bought, exploring the relationship between form, material, and natural elements.
Suitable for beginners and those with previous experience, this calm and supportive workshop is led by experienced Ikebana master Miyuki Griffin, who will guide you through each stage of the arranging process.
What to expect:
  • Learn the principles and philosophy of Ikebana.
  • Create an Ikebana arrangement in your own ceramic container.
  • Work with seasonal flowers, branches, and natural materials.
  • Watch live demonstrations using different vessel forms.
  • Receive step-by-step guidance and individual feedback.
  • Explore harmony between vessel and arrangement through line, balance, and negative space.
  • Discover how shape, texture, glaze, and colour influence composition.
  • Experiment and refine your arrangement in a relaxed, mindful environment.
By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with a finished Ikebana arrangement in your own ceramic container, a kenzan (flower frog), seasonal materials, and the confidence to continue your creative journey at home!
If you've attended Tim Copsey's Sculptural Vessel course, you'll receive a 20% discount on this workshop and are encouraged to bring the vessel you created.
What you'll get
  • A finished Ikebana arrangement in your own ceramic container.
