Want to detox from reality for an evening?
Join comedian Mike Sheer in this playful two-hour writing experience (with drinks) in Southbank's The Understudy, inside the National Theatre.
This activity is the perfect opportunity to kick back with your tipple of choice and have belly laughs with friends old and new, over a delightful mix of innovative and juicy writing prompts.
This is NOT a formal class on how to write the next bestseller; it's a fun exploration of sideways thinking, celebration of imperfection, and chance to let loose on the page. Whether you choose to share what you've written or not is completely up to you!
Come along to make writing fun again. You'll leave this session feeling refreshed, with a reawakened imagination.
Ideal for couples, groups of friends, or solo travellers looking for an easy escape from normal.
A couple things to note...
  • Venue is fully wheelchair accessible! But please let Mike know beforehand so the right amount of space is made free.
  • Our session is in an active bar, so there will be background music and other people chatting around us - all part of the buzzy vibe!

Good Times Writing Experiences
Good Times Writing Experiences

5.0 (11)

Good Times Writing Experiences is created and run by me: Canadian stand up comic and writing coach Mike Sheer.
Since 2019, I've been making and delivering practical workshops on writing craft, aimed at professionals, in the UK and the continent. But after offering more public sessions, I realized I get a huge thrill out of helping EVERYBODY remember how wonderful it is to play with ideas and have a safe space to be silly and wild!
Whether visiting our fair city, or needing a mid-week release from their corporate stresses, my sessions are about getting people to give themselves permission to let their freak flag fly on the page - making writing fun again.
I've performed comedy all over the world for 20 years, and helped dozens of comedians and screenwriters polish and refine their work. So my mix of skills as an entertainer and a writing coach position me perfectly to get you smiling and scribing.
