What you'll do
Make either a pencil skirt or Aline skirt and learn many techniques in this sewing course.We’ll cover many different dressmaking techniques to create a finished and wearable item. Through this sewing course, you’ll learn that there's never just one way to do things in dressmaking (and you don't always have to stick to the rules!). We want to encourage you to find your own personal way.You'll work at your own pace, with guidance from our expert and experienced teachers.

Knowledge required
Suitable for complete beginners who have never used a sewing machine before or those who have basic knowledge but want some practical dressmaking guidance.
What to bring
You will need:1.5 - 2m of medium weight woven fabric (eg cotton, linen, medium weight denim, cord etc).The fabric must be washed before you use it. A normal 30-degree wash is perfect.An 8 inch invisible zip the same colour of your fabric, you will need this for week 2.Feel free to get in touch before the class to discuss fabric choices. We also have a selection of fabrics and trims in the studio which you can purchase from us. Sewing machines and all tools will be provided but you’re welcome to bring your own.

Make Mee Studio is run by Tracey & Jaime. We are two enthusiastic life long sewers (both sewing since were 7 & 5 years old!) We love sharing our making skills with others. We have over 10 years of combined teaching experience working with children and adults.We offer sewing lesson, alterations, makes and commissions in our Brockley-based studio and are active in our local community offering workshops to anyone and everyone who will sit down at a sewing machine with us!
