Mixed Media Cyanotype Workshop

Make your own A3 cyanotype print using sunlight, acetate, and imagination.

2 hours Class size 4 to 12 guests       £35

Join this in-depth indoor cyanotype workshop with Something Good Workshops and learn how to create magical blue prints as you explore this unique art form. In this fascinating 2-hour session, you'll begin this creative activity with an A6 cyanotype test print – exploring how light interacts with different materials like plants, tape, Sharpies, found items, recycled packaging, and wooden letters.
Once you're feeling confident in how to work with various opacities, you'll move on to designing your own striking cyanotype composition on A3 paper, which you'll be able to cut down to make into multiple prints - using the array of materials available. If you have personal images you’d like to weave into your design, simply email an A4 page of these at least two days before the workshop. They will then be converted into a negative and printed onto an acetate sheet – ready for you to incorporate. Your hosts will help you layer materials to create a bold, layered artwork, ready to expose and wash.
This workshop is perfect for those wanting a deeper understanding of the cyanotype process. No prior experience is needed – just bring your curiosity and readiness to play with light, shadow, and shape. You'll leave with your own beautiful deep-blue sun print to take home, a wonderful memento of this illuminating artistic exploration.

  • 5/5 from Vicky, attended Jun 2026: A really great workshop using cyanotype and mixed media to produce several prints to take away at the end of the session. The artist leading the session was patient and encouraging, coming up with ideas to draw on, if we needed it.
  • 5/5 from Melissande Box, attended Sep 2025: I really enjoyed my cyanotype workshop. Emily was very friendly and knowledgeable. There were loads of resources and the workshop is very pleasant. • 5/5 from Grace Campbell, attended Sep 2025: My partner and I did a mixed media cyanotype printing workshop, given as a birthday gift. We had the workshop to ourselves and the whole experience was lovely. Emily took us through the process step by step and really encouraged us to play around with different materials. She also explained what materials were needed if we wanted to try cyanotype at home. It was fun to have complete freedom and create our own designs from the beautiful flowers and other craft materials provided. We each made 2/3 prints which we got to bring home and will make lovely decorations or gifts. Really recommend this workshop!

Hi, we’re Emily and Jess, the creative minds behind Something Good Workshops!
Our journey began in 2019 when Emily launched Something Good Workshops (originally known as MADEptford) as a way to spread crafty joy and raise funds for running the London Marathon. What started as a one-time idea quickly grew into a passion for bringing people together through creativity. Since then, we’ve hosted a wide variety of workshops, from arm knitting to body casting, in all kinds of spaces - corporate offices, cosy pubs, pop-up shops, and even people’s homes.
After taking a short break, we’re back with fresh energy and an exciting new partnership. Jess has joined the team, and together, we’re on a mission to spark joy and empower people to explore their creativity in relaxing, welcoming spaces. We believe there’s something magical about slowing down, working with your hands, and leaving with something you’ve made yourself - whether it’s a chunky knit blanket, a personal shrine, or a collage bursting with personality.
What makes us unique? We’re all about creating an environment where people feel at ease, whether they’re a total beginner or a seasoned maker. Over the years, we’ve held workshops in so many different settings, and one thing always stands out: the joy people feel when they realize just how creative they can be.
We’re not just here to teach a craft - we’re here to help you unwind, have fun, and leave with a tangible reminder that you’re capable of making something good.
We can’t wait to meet you at a workshop soon!
