Q: Do I need any previous art experience?
No experience is needed. Our classes welcome complete beginners and experienced students alike. We focus on building confidence, teaching strong foundations, and creating a supportive first experience. Many students continue into our regular classes after their taster.
Q: How are your classes taught?
Classes are small and highly personalised, with one-to-one guidance in a relaxed group setting. Students work on their own projects rather than following one group exercise. Beginners receive structured foundations, and many continue seamlessly into regular classes.
Q: How many people are in a class?
Each group class lasts 2 hours and is limited to a maximum of 10 students. This ensures every student receives meaningful individual feedback and tutor support throughout the session.
Q: Who will be teaching the class?
Our tutors are professionally trained artists from leading art institutions, including the Royal College of Art, Central Saint Martins, Slade School of Fine Art, and more. They combine strong technical expertise with supportive, inspiring teaching.
Q: Can I choose what I draw or paint?
Yes. You may choose your own subject and medium, working from photos, imagination, or still life. We also provide a wide range of studio props and references for inspiration.
Q: Will I finish a piece during the session?
Many students complete a small study in one session, however classical drawing and painting techniques may benefit from multiple sessions. Oil paintings may need drying time, which you can choose to collect on a different day or bring a carrier bag to take home.
Q: Is the building accessible?
Unfortunately, the studio is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. If you have access questions, please contact us before booking and we will do our best to advise.
Q: What's the cancellation policy?
A: No cancellations, but free to reschedule up until 3 days before the class
