Afternoon tea is one of the most well known British traditions. Learn to bake a selection of delicious treats so you can create a delicious afternoon tea of your own with this inspiring baking class in London.
Join experienced and talented baking tutor, Valeria for this afternoon tea baking class and make yourself at ease in a familiar yet professional and very well equipped environment, where you will learn with a small group of like minded people.
Through practical demonstrations and easy to follow instructions, you will learn to bake:
  • English scones.
  • Lemon, ginger and poppy seeds bundt cake with lemon glaze.
  • Orange and cardamom madeleines dipped in white chocolate.
During this afternoon tea baking class, you will learn how to:
  • Bake delicious English scones and get ideas about traditional and more creative fillings.
  • Prepare a bundt cake batter and understand the role of the different ingredients.
  • Make an icing sugar glaze, learn how to differently flavour it and get the right consistency.
  • Bake Madeleines, buttery petit fours with the consistency of a sponge cake, the perfect accompaniment to afternoon tea.
  • Make browned butter to enrich your sweet bakes.
  • Master the basic techniques to prepare and flavour sponges and petit fours.
  • Build your confidence and independent baking skills.
  • Improve your own recipes and be creative.
By the end of this London baking class, you will have a selection of freshly baked goods to take home, plus some newfound baking skills to put to the test later on!
Minimum age: This class requires a minimum age of 14-years-old for attendance. Exceptions to this age requirement must be agreed in advance. However, everyone in the kitchen needs to have their own individual paid spot regardless of age.
