We are partnering with a creative space in Cornwall, Maya's, and we'll be hosting simultaneous pen pal-junk journaling workshops!
The price includes tickets to two junk journaling sessions, all materials, and postage on your first letter.
How it works:
  • The workshop is split into 2 events. The FIRST event (01/10) is the one where you make your first letter! If you've never had a pen pal, don't worry! You can introduce yourself, make a collage using your favourite colours and materials, even adding a pic of yourself and some junk journaling bits for them to use! If there's time (which usually there is), we'll also do some work on our journals, so don't forget to bring it! We'll package up all your letters, send them across the country to Maya's, and assign you a pen pal!
  • The SECOND event (22/10), your first letter from your new pen pal will be there waiting for you! Open it, see what they have to say, and get working on your next letter. Again, we'll make some spreads on our journals, so bring it! We take care of posting the first letter, and we'll have your pen pal's address for you to post your second letter to them when you're ready.
When booking, please make sure that you're available for BOTH dates to get the full experience.
In the studio, you'll find a huge array of gorgeous craft supplies, including colourful washi tapes, a big collection of scrapbooking papers, stickers, stamps, magazines, and more! Bring your own junk/photos/sentimental bits if you feel like it, and anything you want to include for your pen pal.
Events start at 6.30pm, and we'll have 2 hours to get creative, get to know each other, and enjoy a blissful evening. Teas and biscuits are complimentary in the studio, and you're welcome to bring your own snacks/drinks. These events are for people aged 15 and up. Under 18s need to come with a ticket-holding adult.

Knowledge required
This is aimed at complete beginners and seasoned scrapbookers alike!
What to bring
  • Your journal, or a booklet that can be used as such, if you don't have a journal yet.
  • This is optional: if you want to add personal ephemera to your letter or journals, such as pictures of yourself, personal notes, memorabilia, etc. The rest is all taken care of!

Session repeats

This class series runs over 2 consecutive sessions, which are 3 weeks apart.

Suitable for

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 15 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.

This experience would also be a cool gift for her, gift for mum, Xmas gift or gift for couples.

Can I book if I can only make it to one of the sessions?
Unfortunately, we're giving space to the ones who can come to both sessions to ensure a full experience! You can add yourself to the waitlist so you'll get notified the minute we add new dates.

Mina (AKA Guillermina F) is an abstract artist from Argentina who has lived in London for the last 6 years. Her production is made mainly through experimental printmaking and mixed media. She has been in the educational arena for over 10 years at different levels, delivering classes in University, hosting Workshops and running several artistic studios. She has ran creative sessions for children, teenagers and adults alike, tailoring each one to meet particular needs, create a fun environment and teaching new techniques.
