What you'll do
Long before the teabag, Song Dynasty China was whisking its tea into a green froth, a practice called dian cha that later travelled to Japan and shaped matcha culture. In this calm, hands-on workshop you'll learn it yourself.You'll hear the history of Chinese green tea and the pan-firing that gives it warm, nutty, fresh flavours, then practise the whisking technique until you get that sought-after frothy texture. The session finishes as it should: quietly, enjoying the tea you prepared.No experience needed. This is a slow, meditative session that suits complete beginners.Please note: our team arrives one hour early to set up the workstation and stays 30 minutes after to clean up. A sink at the venue is essential. We come to your venue.
