Hi, I’m Luna — a yarn artist and workshop host based in North London. I run Luna’s Yarn Studio, a cozy creative space where people can slow down, connect, and find joy through the magic of yarn.
My journey with crochet started in middle school, thanks to the women in my family. My mother, aunt, and aunt-in-law were all passionate about knitting and crochet, and it was my mum and aunt who first taught me how to use a hook. I instantly fell in love with handmade crafts, and later pursued a degree in fashion design, where I found myself always drawn to textiles, fabric manipulation, and especially yarn-based techniques.
I’ve always found crochet to be something magical — the way a single strand of yarn can be looped and shaped into scarves, toys, hats, blankets, flowers... it feels endless. That passion stayed with me throughout my creative journey, and led me to the UK, where I completed my Master’s in Sustainable Fashion at Kingston University.
For my graduation project, I focused on upcycling old T-shirts by turning them into yarn. I used crochet and weaving techniques to transform the material into unique pieces like decorative vases, placemats, coasters, and fabric baskets. It was both creatively fulfilling and meaningful — combining my love for yarn with sustainability.
The first time I taught a workshop was actually during Christmas last year, in collaboration with a local coffee shop. I showed people how to cut old T-shirts and turn them into festive coasters using crochet, embroidery, and a touch of imagination. The event went beautifully — everyone had fun, and many told me I was a natural teacher. Some even asked when I’d teach again! That moment planted the seed for my studio dream.
In March 2024, I officially opened Luna’s Yarn Studio. Since then, I’ve hosted a number of beginner-friendly yarn sessions — from spring flower ring workshops and tiny flower keychain sessions, to one-on-one bookings where participants made peach charms, rose-shaped placemats, and Easter bunny cup holders. I recently finished writing a community proposal and am hoping to collaborate with local neighbourhood groups to bring the joy of yarn to more people.
What I love most about teaching is not just sharing skills, but creating a space where people feel calm, inspired, and connected. Yarn has always been a source of comfort and creativity in my life — and now I hope to pass that on to others, one loop at a time.
Whether you're completely new or just looking for a relaxing way to spend an afternoon, I’d love to welcome you to my little yarn world
