Join Alchème Studio at Om Being, Hackney Downs Studios, for Tea & Sound: an immersive evening of rare teas, ambient music, incense and sensory exploration. Through this unique experience in London, you’ll discover the world of tea through a carefully curated tasting journey, explore the Japanese art of incense, and enjoy an atmospheric space where tea, sound and conversation come together. You’ll experience five carefully selected teas, learn about their stories, origins and character, and have the option to take the evening home with a limited-edition Mystery Box.
A Unique Tea Tasting Experience in Hackney, London
Set within the intimate, intentionally curated space at Om Being, Hackney Downs Studios, Tea & Sound unfolds over 2.5 hours. Throughout the evening, five carefully selected teas are introduced gradually, each with its own story, origin, character and atmosphere.
For this mystical edition, you’ll explore the ancient stories behind tea and the magic of incense, accompanied by ambient sound inspired by the teas being served.
Rather than a traditional tea tasting, this is a slower, more immersive experience. Every cup offers an opportunity to notice something new: an aroma rising from the teapot, a subtle change in flavour between infusions, the warmth of a cup in your hands, or the way sound transforms the atmosphere around you.
There is no need for prior knowledge of tea, and no pressure to participate in a particular way. You can listen, talk, taste, observe, journal or just be. Come alone, bring a friend, meet someone new or simply enjoy your own company.
Seasonal, house-made treats will be available to purchase separately, including:

For those who would like to continue the experience at home, a limited-edition Mystery Box will also be available as an optional add-on. Revisit the teas, scents and sounds of Tea & Sound long after the evening has ended.

Hi, I’m Mira — a tea host, creative director and founder of Alchème Studio.
Alchème Studio is a space I created to share the power of tea as a daily ritual for presence, stillness, and connection. With a background in art direction and holistic practices, I’ve always been drawn to experiences that awaken the senses and help people to slow down.
My journey with tea began during a time when I was seeking more grounding and clarity. What started as a quiet practice at home became a much deeper path. I’ve since studied traditional Japanese tea ceremony under a Japanese tea master and trained in Cha Dao with Wu De, learning to hold tea not just as a drink, but as a practice for living more intentionally.
Through Alchème Studio, I offer curated tea experiences, matcha workshops, and multi-sensory events that blend tradition with modern, mindful living. I also create seasonal offerings like our upcoming interactive time capsule tea boxes, designed to guide people into presence through the senses.
Whether you join a tea ceremony, sip matcha with us at a workshop, or simply open one of our tea boxes at home — my intention is always the same: To create a space where you can slow down, reconnect, and experience the everyday as something unique, or as my tea master would say "Ichi-go ichi-e".
