Guests are welcomed and can choose where they'd like to sit and get comfortable for the class. Emma will then do an introduction into what the workshop will entail and what guests will learn and take home by the end of it.


Step 2: Preparation & Setup

Guests will be introduced to materials, design boards and tools. Emma will explain how to use a design board to measure the length of your desired necklace and answer any questions about the materials and tools.


Step 3: Design Process

Step 3: Design Process

Choosing colours, patterns, textures and designs comes more naturally to some than others but Emma is on hand to help as much or as little as you like. There will also be lots of example necklaces on display if you'd like some inspiration. Emma can also help you with explaining some basics necklace design principles. Your design board is there to allow you to have a play around before committing to final design.


Step 4: Beading

Once you're happy with your design, Emma will show you how to attach bead ends to your wire and how to bead.


Step 5: Securing Your Necklace

Once all your beads are in place, Emma will show you how to securely close off your necklace using pilers, clam shell bead ends and crimp tubes.

Once all your beads are secured, it's time to choose your clasp and finish your necklace. There will be a range of Sterling Silver or Gold Plated clasps to choose from.

Whether you're a complete beginner or you've worked with beads before, this workshop is designed for all skill levels – no prior jewellery-making experience needed.
You'll work with a diverse selection of high-quality materials including gems, pearls, glass beads, charms, and pendants, giving you plenty of options to express exactly what you want. Your instructor will guide you through the complete necklace-making process, teaching you professional techniques including how to secure beads on wire, use clamshell bead ends, create professional crimps, and attach jump rings and clasps correctly. These are skills you can keep developing at home long after the workshop.
All the materials you need are provided, along with tools and instruction sheets to take with you. You're welcome to take pictures and videos during the class too – handy references for future projects if you want to make more pieces at home.
By the end of the session, you'll have acquired practical jewellery-making skills and a handcrafted necklace that reflects your unique style – something that's truly yours.
Practical Information
It's recommended to arrive 10 minutes before the starting time to get settled in. Your teacher will provide instructions on how to enter the building when you arrive.
