Your friend can enjoy any demonstrations given, and they are free to ask questions, but they will not receive the same practical, direct one-to-one support as is offered to the lead participant.

Keeping everyone safe

At Hobbycraft, we want our workshops to be enjoyable, inclusive, and safe for everyone. Some workshops are suitable for children, and where this is the case, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising their child at all times unless the workshop is clearly stated as suitable for independent attendance. Our colleagues and instructors are there to guide the activity and support a safe environment, and if any concerns about safety or wellbeing arise during a workshop, these should be raised with a member of staff straight away.

  • 5/5 from Anonymised ClassBento customer, attended Jun 2026: I'm a complete beginner, I was slightly apprehensive about where to start with my sewing machine so booked a 1 to 1. My instructor was very friendly and demystified my sewing machine, I feel a lot more confident as I really had no idea what all the dials meant. I now know how to do button holes, how to switch to the different stitches, change the tension and stitch size & thread the machine. My instructor gave me various tips and answered all my questions clearly. I would recommend a lesson as trying to follow YouTube is harder when you're completely new to sewing

  • 5/5 from Anna, attended Dec 2025: I bought this sewing one to one workshop for my daughter’s best friend as a 17th birthday present, to compliment the sewing machine she recently acquired. We added an extra person on and both girls went happily together.
