This course requires a digital DSLR or mirrorless camera with full manual controls. If you do not have access to either of these, your teacher can provide you with a DSLR camera.

- 5/5 from Lucy Coward Whittaker, attended Sep 2026: I had a great time on the macro course, I was a complete beginner and James go me up to speed. It was alot of information to take in but I was sent follow up notes afterwards. The learning was then put into action by going outside and practicing taking the photos which was so fun and James was there to add in feedback and adjustments in real time to help embed the learning and so it all made sense. I really recommend this course to help you understand your camera. I dont have one yet and he was helping me to find the perfect one for me which is also really helpful.

James our trainer was very good with a relaxed, engaging easy style. The venue was the right size for the audience (2) Suggestion would be A. Outline the days agenda at the beginning B. C9nfirm prior that food and drink (not water) is not provided. Bit that there are a wealth of local eateries available.
