6 hours Class size 1 to 12 guests       £75

If you're looking for unique things to do in London, try out screen printing. Learn how the whole process works and come away with your very own work of art.
Guided by experienced teacher Holly, you will get a beginner-friendly introduction to the world of printmaking. Whether you're looking to print an edition of your own personal design or you love trying out new art skills, this class is for you.
This full-day experience is split into two halves with an hour-long break for lunch, the perfect time to visit the many food kiosks located in the same building as the class.
The first half of the day will kick start with a short intro to the printing studio and process. Holly will show you how to coat and expose your design onto the screen. After lunch, you will then cover ink mixing and the process of setting up the paper bed. Then you'll get some hands-on action making your screen prints.
By the end of this screen printing workshop, you will have ten prints to take home with you. Put them up on your wall or give away to family and friends as a unique gift.

  • 5/5 from Christina Entcheva, attended Jun 2022: A great space for screen printing, workshops. Full of knowledgeable and friendly people. Cant wait to come back!
  • 5/5 from Hanna Goetze, attended May 2022: Had a blast at the one day beginner's workshop! The course leaders were extremely competent and eager to answer any questions in depth. They had already printed our designs on clear plastic sheets for us. After introductions, they explained the basic techniques and then we were taught in groups how to prepare the screens. There were a lot of colour choices for the inks. We were allowed to use several colours for an experimental look. The demonstrations were easy to follow and the printing itself so much fun. Great vibe, nice airy space, would definitely come again!
  • 5/5 from Barbara Polanski, attended May 2022: BarbaraI had a most enjoyable day attending this course. The small number of participants meant that we had lots of personal help in mastering the techniques, and it was very hands on. It was also a working environment where we could observe more experienced artists working on their own projects. The tutor was well informed and a good teacher, we all felt very relaxed and we were encouraged to ask questions.
  • 5/5 from Ross Bannatyne, attended Apr 2022: Great day at 3rd Rail Print Space for the beginners paper screen printing workshop. As a complete beginner even I managed to leave with some real quality prints! Lou and Risa were great all day. The small workshop size was great too as there was time to talk about the process and ask lots of questions.
  • 4/5 from Dash Howarth, attended Apr 2022: Really enjoyed the workshop, our instructors were patient and knowledgable, I was also happy to walk away with something tangible (10 prints!). One thing I'd improve would be the advice given before the workshop to printing novices (like me!)- I didn't realise how my image would convert to film and that black parts would be the coloured parts when printing, and how line thickness is also important.
  • 5/5 from Jack Hodkinson, attended Feb 2022: So fun! Great teacher and cool space.
  • 5/5 from Lavi Shanbhag, attended Feb 2022: Absolutely fantastic experience and a day well spent.
  • 5/5 from Helen Lowe, attended Jan 2022: I loved the class - learned a lot in a friendly environment, I would recommend this to my friends
  • 4/5 from Emily Micalizzi, attended Dec 2020: I had a fun day and was really happy with the prints that I took home. I think more care could have gone to explaining the history and whole process before we began, as I had zero experience and didn't really understand what was going on. Compared to other creative classes I've gone to I felt a little abandoned in the process.
