Join Paul on a journey of discovery and wonder as he shares his findings from decades of research on the script that came to be known as English Roundhand. This little-known script saw evolved around 1600, and quickly experienced a dramatic evolution in its letterforms, variable angles and execution.

This engaging and illuminating session is perfect for anyone with an interest in the art of calligraphy, particularly Copperplate Script, its history and how it developed over time. You'll learn more than you ever thought possible from Paul, a true expert in the field, and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the craft that you can use in your own projects.

Please note: The two-hour session will be followed by an optional Q&A session if you have any questions or queries for Paul. This usually lasts about an hour to an hour and a half.

Whether you’re after a classic look or opt for a modern twist, you'll immerse yourself in the arts while learning all about the culture behind this ancient art.

Paul trained as a Scribe and Heraldic Artist and went on to study Archaeological Illustration with a specialism in Ancient Writing Systems. A renowned calligrapher, he is one of the four Crown Office Scribes who has handwritten some of the laws of the UK unto vellum for signing by Her Majesty The Queen.
